hello all. the wife and myself are off to woodgate on Monday for 4 nights then off to Harvey bay for 3.i have not been to woodgate for about 20 years but we or off to spread the inlaws ashes, it was one of there favourite spots to go as a young family. can any one recommend places to see and things to do. im keen on a bit of fishing and would love to hire a boat for a couple of hours. I know this is possible in Harvey bay but don't know about woodgate, all I do remember is the tide goes out a long way and there was no pub. there is a pub now but I don't think they were able to fix the tide problem.
regards wmarsb.

Last I heard no where to hire bost at Woodgate, haven't been there for a few years though, but the pub does fix the tide as you just stay there until the tide is in????

We're at Woodgate at the moment. Not alot to do except relax and go to the beach. The bowls club do meals if u feel like an evening out. No boat hire that I've been able to find, lots of tinnies in the park, its byo. Have noticed a few guys fishing from the beach tho.
Took a trip to Hervey Bay yesterday and dropped into Johnnos Camper Trailers for a replacement ct tap. Today a trip to Bundy for a look around... Bundy rum factory and breakfast on the esplanade at Bagarra. Lots of roadside fruit and veg stalls along the way. Very very dry not a patch of green grass to be found and the caravan park at Woodgate is much the same. However they do great fish, chips and burgers at the little cafe at the front of the park at Woodgate. Childers have a new Woolies supermarket for supplies it's located on the northern side of town. Also Mamino's ice cream is worth a visit. We head home on Sunday. Also IMHO Hervey Bay has the best range of boating and camping supply shops ie Rays, BCF, etc... As well as everything else.
