Title: Tyre size

My new Challenger has 265/65 17 tyres as standard and as an original fit they are fine,highway terrain and quite comfortable.
When the time comes to replace these I wonder if 75 series would be worth while?
What would the gains be, if any?
A Ride height
B gearing, at present an indicated 100 kph equates to 96 kph on gps.

Members experience would be appreciated.

The 265/75/17 has a diameter of 829.3 mm or 32.64 inchesv the rolling diameter is 2604.0mm

My gu patrol came with the same size from factory. I put 285/65/17's on at standard ride height (which are wider and taller) and found my speedo was accurate to gps.

Now I have new suspension I am looking to put 285/70/17's on (which is a 33 in the old language)

To answer your question yes you will gain ride height and you will be travelling faster than 96 when your speedo reads 100.. That calculator will tell you how much..

You can fit a 275/70/17 Mickey Thompson STZ no problems. I am running them with a DC 7 rim. The same wheel in my signature block on the left of the screen.

If you want any advice on how to create a pimped challenger, just ask.

They are just under a 33inch.

They were great with standard suspension and the speedo read 100kph as per the GPS. So they brought the speedo back into spec.

It was fine as it was, but I'm into big wheels and suspension lifts.

I have 265/70/17 BFG KM2's and a manual gearbox and I will not go any bigger due to a high 1st gear and issues getting away on a hill while towing.....as well as offroad as well.....1st low is still too high for serious offroad work..

Legally, even mine is illegal, so if that worries you !!!

I thought the same thing last night when I saw the OP asking for 265/75/17's I was pretty sure that he would have to go for the 70's but not 100% sure enough to post it.

With front and rear difflocks mine will go most places the "big" boys go !! ;D
