Just curious where people store the chainsaw in their vehicles, more interested in those that have wagons, as Im not keen to keep it on the carpeted floor. Also Im not keen to throw it on top of anything else. Don't want to keep it in the trailer toolbox because I wont be taking the trailer 4wding most times.

In a chainsaw box :)

In a Stihl Chainsaw case(BTW it's not a Stihl saw LOL) ratchet strapped onto the roof basket. ;D
-
In a metal toolbox on the roofrack. Not a fan of having it in the car.
Edit - probably not helpful if you don't have a roofrack.
-
I take the bar off of mine and stick it in a 20lt drum along with gloves, spare chains, safety glasses and fuel, simple and cheap like me ;D

Do you lock it >:D >:D >:D

thanks guys, all very enlightening! I didn't know that there was such a thing as a chainsaw box, so will look into that one. Don't have a roof rack as yet, but the moment it goes on, then that's where the chainsaw and its box will go :)

Ours is kept in it's Chain Saw Bag and we just throw it in the back of the cruiser with all the other gear................it's easy and I'm lazy :D ...........works a treat ;D

grrrrr I hate having to think about locking things all the time.....yes I guess so. I even have to chain my garden hose to a post at home, and then the mongrels just steal small pieces of hose instead of the whole thing.

The Stihl ones are about 80 bucks.

Ya better off with a Husky Chainsaw box as they are a rectangular shape which makes packing around them easier

if I travel bymyself for short trips the chainsaw sits on the floor on the passenger side. in my mud mat.
if travelling with family or passenger then the saw sits in the cargo area. I dont have carpets but it sits nicely in its spot in the back..
soon it will travel in my trailers tool box.

Thanks for the replies everyone..hmmm I wonder if I had a roof rack, would I be able to hoist my two whingy teenagers up there....
Anyway the chainsaw for this last trip stayed in the back of the wagon and was needed a few times on one of our 4wd adventures.
This pic was just getting some firewood.

Where did you get the box from? Sure would make packing easier being that shape as opposed to the Stihl one.

Put your safety gear on top of the chainsaw ,glasses ,gloves ,ear protection , then you will more likely use them before you start the saw !
-
just ordered a case :D
yes I did forget to pack safety gear. ???
-
I modified a milk crate on the roof rack for me. I get the saw in plus the fuel, spare chain and bar oil.
-
bugger, now why didn't you post the milk crate idea BEFORE I ordered a case??

Just got back from a TRIP and - sorry ;D
