G'day everyone. I arrived home yesterday morning from out at work all excited to get the camper out to season it and start on the power system as it arrived last Saturday while I was out at work. Well..... I looked at it and thought "hell something ain't right" well it wasn't. Have a look for yourselves.
See the attachment.

You're going to have trouble setting up the tent with the boat rack in the way...

Exactly! I near pulled old mate through the phone yesterday. Wasn't happy. It goes back down on Monday to be fixed and should be back home by the end of the week. All at their cost.
Everything else seems good, even though I can't check the tent out yet!
-
Lucky you found out now and not on the first night of your trip!!

Hearing ya mate. Was hoping to get all the wiring done and seasoned yesterday and this morning so when I get home from my next swing out at work we are right to take off for a few days, well not now. It won't be back before I go back out to work on Thursday arvo.

hey ozstickman
that is hilarious :D
especially seeing as it isnt my camper
sorry to hear it mate and hope it is a painless fix
-
Sorry to hear ozstickman but you will see the funny side of it in the future some time.
PMSL ;D

Wow ... That inspires confidence in the rest if the trailer if they missed that LITTLE thing :D :D
Good campfire story and as said one day you will laugh about it.
Jet ;D ;D

S'Funny I thought the tents folded to the inside ? Passenger side ? Left in the pic ? Away from the boat thingy ??
You can see I don't have a soft floor eh !!
Mandrake
-
Since the tailgate opens to the left it means the tent folds out to the right.
It's always the little details....
-
How the hell did they miss that, sending that off to a customer is just embarrasing for the CT maker/dealer ???
At least they put the drawbar at the opposite end to the tailgate!!!!! ;D
Just wondering if anyone has seen a bigger stuff up then this one??
Thinking Ozstickman, through no fault of his own, might be the current holder of the CT Fail :cup: of the year award........
Anyway mate, hope they sort it for you......
-
:) :) :) :D That's funny........ Maybe not for you, but for the rest it's just bloody brilliant ;)

I wanna know how they are goin to fix it without it lookin like Shit with old welds and bodge marks on it.
-
We will see how it is sorted when it returns. If it isn't fixed to my satisfactory it will be taken further.
I am a decent bloke so I am giving them a go to sort the problem.
-
wow now thats a screw up, Wonder why they didn't check every thing over before it left the factory
-
You would think they would check everything first before sending it to the customer?
Including setting the tent up and see if everything works.
-
Yep that is more the point. Obviously they don't double check anything. To the op, I hope it works out for you ok.
Still funny though, and one day you will have a giggle about it.
-
This is the ultimate test in customer service. I hope we do look back and laugh about it.

Exactly mine was set up in the workshop prior to me picking it up.

I was planning to drive down from Rockhampton to pick it up last block off work but had things pop up that prevented me to do so. I would of set it up down there etc but I got it shipped up on a car carrier.
Wouldn't have any issues if I didn't get the boat rack. I was going to make my own boat rack for one because all the ones I had seen were not what I wanted. This one was exactly what I was going to do.
Not too worry, the wife and I were only talking that we are not ment to buy new stuff, the xtrail when we got it copped a hunk of steel straight through the front of the car only 4 hours after picking it up, our house in Warwick when we bought it well the hot water system died the day after we moved in, and well the camper this problem. They say things happen in threes, let's hope we are all good now!
-
I love your camper manufacturers motto on their website.
"It's the quality that sets us apart" ::)
-
Thats f*****g ridiculous great for a laugh for us but not so great for you I would ask them to check everything over.
Cheers eddy

Ozstickman, you were there when your Xtrail got damaged.
Ozstickman, you were there when your hot water system failed.
Ozstickman, you now have a camper trailer with a problem.
Ozstickman, You are a feckin Jinx....... ;D ;D

Trailer made in Australia..... Not wing wang Wong
-
could it be possible that there've bolted the tent around the wong way, so they won't have to reweld narda
-
Sorry i am not getting it why does it matter if the tent folds out the same was as the kitchen opens ??

the kitchen hinges out on the left, and folds off the left side it would end up out into the middle of the tent/annexe area and be right in the way I guess.
-
The tent is ment to fold out the same side the boat rack is. I will be back Saturday but I'm back out at work so I have to wait 8 days till I'm home to have a play.
-

Exactly how I saw it also. You would be walking around the kitchen all the time. Unless the gate opened a full 180* then it would run along the tent wall, but may then interfere with door or windows

Tru Blu have a double gated tailgate on the model Timbo has.. One opens 180 against the tent with shelf, and tap etc on it (really good thinking), and the other 90 with a kitchen on it

SWMBO informs me that our camper has returned and is all fixed. They done a very good job and she tells me you can hardly tell they done anything to it. Her dad thought it was a whole new trailer.
All happy now. They fixed it with very little fuss and made a few changes for me at no cost.

That's all you can ask.
Shame all companies aren't that good to deal with.
-
Good to hear mate
-
Now you can hopefully have a laugh about it.
Good to see a manufacturer giving good support, hope it all works well for you.

They were very quick to sort the problem and didn't fob me off.
-
Yeah, mistakes happen.
The important thing is how they respond to correct the issue.
Looks like they've done well, here.....
-
Glad it all worked out............ and good on the dealer for looking after u!
-
Great outcome.
