From the same mob who own Range Rover ???....................I'd say if they do it properly, it would be no different to the stuff coming from Toyota etc ( which are made in Thailand )

Interesting..  but i think that's only a concept vehicle

reading that article at

While it is unlikely that Tata will put the Tuff Truck into production - at least not immediately - some of the accessories adorning it may become available with the regular Xenon ute range, when it launches.

It's also the the same story at http://www.tatamotors.com.au/tuff-truck-concept/ (http://www.tatamotors.com.au/tuff-truck-concept/)  .. The  concept vehicle was meant to be shown at the Melbourne 4x4 Show, just gone this weekend. (Did anyone that went to the Melb 4x4 actually get to see that vehicle?)

The Tata Xenon is not totally new to Australia, over the last few years it's actually been sold in small numbers by a small setup in QLD called "Uptons Motors" http://www.uptonsmotorstata.com.au/ (http://www.uptonsmotorstata.com.au/).

In this case "tuff" is a relative term, for India this is as flash as rat with a gold tooth.

I suppose its like a commodore coming with $15,000 of FREE accessories which is a towing pack and different rims and tyres.

The ol elephant washers would go nuts over that.

Saw one of these TATA Dual Cab utes the other night..

Looked the business but the sound was very unexpected.

Wasn't sure what the engine was but it sounded TOUGH....   I expected to find a Cummins but the web page doesn't really say.

Not sure if it had a standard exhaust but it was deep and tough sounding....   :cup:

It always makes me laugh when car makers do a concept like this, calling it Tuff, claiming its built for offroad, then put stupid 20" inch rims and tyres with about an inch of sidewall on it, so you cant air down and actually use it offroad !

One of my regular customers has a TATA Xeonon.
It looks nice.
For what he paid he is more than happy with it.
