Some months ago I went to exchange some 9kg cylinders in Mackay when it turns out almost everywhere I went to had no 9kg gas cylinder exchanges so after a few phone calls I was directed to go to the local Elgas Depot out the harbor where they still had some in stock. After hopping out of my vehicle some bald headed muscle man meatball (who thought he was tough Shit) was zipping around on an electric forklift swearing on his phone (nah that’s bullShit man… no way man… yeah man… that’s bullShit man etc) when I hopped out of my vehicle He yelled out ‘Nah man we are closed man...’ so after I told him that the Elgas hotline told me to come here and speak to Ben and was hearing it all over again ‘yeah that’s me man but nah man that’s bullShit man’ I said ok well I will have to call elgas again to see what was going on (maybe I went to the wrong Depot or something) I was put on hold when this muscleman meatball again, approached my vehicle and almost put a hole through my tray with his forklift when he asked what do I want. I told him I needed to exchange 2 9kg gas cylinders. He shook his head (sulking) and took off out the back where I noticed he was near some bulk gas tanks (if that’s what they call them?) he pulled out a smoke and put in his mouth (Im serious!) and he picked up 2 cylinders and walked back past the bulk tank towards me when the phone rings he puts down the cylinders, answers the phone and, again…. Nah man that’s bullShit man tell them to get F@#$% man. as he was on the phone he pulls out his lighter starts walking around near a whole heap of gas cylinders right next to the big (bulk) tanks ( he was ranting and raving on about something) when he proceeded to light his smoke (was I seeing things? NO) I was feeling a little uneasy when he had a smoke lit up in his mouth a phone on his shoulder howling to the other end and carrying the 2 gas cylinders I asked for. He put them on the ground in front of me and told me it was $200 cash for the 2 bottles. $200?? I asked? He said ‘Yeah man…. It’s the last ones we got man… and its cash only’. So I had no choice but to part with the hard earned cash and just get the hell out of there. He put the cash in his pocket when I asked for a receipt when he said nah man we are closed.
Some weeks later I was on my return trip back down south when I went to BCF in Mackay and they had a special on for the 9kgs for $14.95 each.
Seems I got ripped off by that bald headed muscleman meatball right guys?

yep.... the local Bunnings has swaps for $19.80......

Ouch 200bux Im guessin it didnt come with 4slabs of coldies, bloody pricy mate for 2 bottles, meatballs are everywhere these days

Well it's a little late now, but I would have declined the offer and rang the company. Ask them for a price and if it turns out the guy is pocketing extra let them know, I would have also explained what had taken place, regarding the ciggy and phone.

No way in hell would I of given him $200 cash.

First thing I would do is report exactly what happened including the smoking bit to Elgas head office. I have carted bulk gas into there Depots and what he did is an instant dismissal.
