Sometimes it happens. Way up high I'll notice a plane passing by on a regular basis and I sometimes wonder where it came from or where it is headed to.
I came across this website today which helps answer those questions - http://www.flightradar24.com (http://www.flightradar24.com)

Thats really interesting thanks for sharing

Does anyone know of somethign like that for satellites?
When we were at Binderee last time, it wasn't a matter of "Hey theres a satellite", but in the end we saw that many nobody took notice. would be interesting.

For satellites, "space junk" is useful. It is interesting to see what is floating around up there.

we saw at least 20 in a few hours.. which was what had me perplexed.. Maybe it was just a once off, but they were heading in every direction!

RE: FlightRadar24
The website is ok. But the phone apps are outstanding, incprorating your phones GPS to pinpoint yourself on the map and see what plane is flying over on the map; and the amazing augmented reality feature by way of using your iPhone's camera, cross-referencing with the GPS, to be able to point the phone camera at a plane, and have it labelled on the camera screen in the app with flight details, speed, altitude.
The best couple of bucks you'll spend on an app..

Not satelites but you can hold your phone up to the sky and this app tells you what stars and planets you are looking at

I like google sky. The Nasa app is ok for some satelites and the space station. I just found the time could be out a little.

If only I'd seen this before staying at the Lane Cove NP campground. Great campground, but :o :o :o

Hey Lost I find this site realy good http://www.heavens-above.com/ (http://www.heavens-above.com/)
The kids like to search for satellites when we get out camping, keeps them busy for an hour at least at night .

Used Satalite AR (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.agi.android.augmentedreality&hl=en) on the android and it seems pretty good.

I have found that it doesn't matter where you camp you will always hear a plane or two fly over ;D

Sometimes I wish I had a phone that did more than make and take phone calls and wake me in the morning. :-[

We camp undrneath flight paths as well, every sunset we see birds flying back to their nesting areas, and every morning they are flying to the water and food for the day. Wonder if they have developed an "app" for that yet....(only kidding about the app).
