Iam adding a snorkel to my navara and was wondering about the difference between ARB and Nissan/Airtec snorkles.
The Arb snorkel s its up like snake ready to strike and the airtec is more layed backis is one better than the other more /less air intake or is it just to be different, I personally prefer the airtec

Get the one u prefer the look of, its your rig..
But i like the arb and safari snorkels, The heads are replaceable and u can put a sock over the top for added dust protection when in the outback..
But its your rig, just dont buy Chinese or other copies..

I had Airtec on both my 'Trols, and have an Airtec on the 200 Series. I'm happy with the performance, and doubt there'd be a measurable difference between the performance of either. But the Airtecs look much better in my opinion.

You have not stated with Navara we are talking about -- If it's the D22 or D40 version --
I used to own a R51 Pathfinder which is the same setup as the D40 Navara diesel, and I installed a Safari snorkel, one thing to be aware of, is that a snorkel creates a fair amount of noticeable induction noise into the cabin.
There is discussion about the different Snorkels available for the R51 on the Pathfinder forum, which could be of interest
Talking about the factory Snorkel is difficult to seal -- Nissan recommending not to use them for water crossings -- Safari Snorkel being noisy

I had an Airtec snorkel on my D40 Navara. I didn't have any issues and performed well. You can get the prefilter snorkel socks to fit inside if you want to use them for dusty conditions, ( if it's the removable head Airtec ).

Thanks for all the replies My navara is a D22 and while I prefer the airtec I cant find any one where I live to fit it ( I,m a bit scarred to start cutting holes in my ute) the only place nearby 120 ks is an ARB mob so tomorrow they will be putting a safari and a long ranger tank on for me.

Hi Nuthermug
I have installed a Safari Snorkel on my bush basher, and I enjoy the fact that I can reverse the head to fack when I hit shocking mud, which is frequent at this time of year.

Thanks Tjupurla, I never would have thought of that it makes me feel better now that its on.

Reversing your snorkel head is a good idea when in a dusty convoy.(unless you are right at the front).
