G'day all,
its been a while since our last post :'(. I've givin away interstate truck driving, and looking to get back into camping. Our first trip back will be to straddie in september.
looking for any info on 4wding, fishing and kid friendly camp spots. Have heard Adder Rock is a good spot??
Cheers

Welcome back. Geez, September, you're not exactly rushing .
Haven't done Straddie myself yet, keen to hear what you find. We also have the National Meet at Nymboida in September if you're keen to meet a few fellow swaggers.

Adder Rock is nice, Flinders nearby is good too and ok for pets.
We prefer the ocean beach but unsure of the condition. Last we heard (easter) the beach was undriveable due to erosion, which is a shane cos we rate the beach campsites better than Fraser because they get nowhere near the amount of use... oh and pets and "cooking" campfires are also OK on the main beach too.
Our bookings were always with the big red cat and they give a discount to RACQ members

And that's your only option now that they have bought out stradbroke ferries. Monopoly acquired, and just like Hawkins for transport to Moreton they have now priced the ferry accordingly. :-[

And have taken away the better straddie ferries to gladstone
