Hi all,
We'll be laying-over in the Rockhampton area for 5 days, on our way north for Mr McGirr's gulf trip.
We'll be without a car for 2 days, while it's getting the magic wand waved over it in Gracemere.
Does anyone have any experience with CP's in the area? Has anyone stayed at the Gracemere CP?
Cheers,

We stayed at the southside top tourist park last year and wouldn't go back. There unpowered area was a joke and to get some room we had to pay for a powered site. We also found it really noisey from the highway which isn't their fault. It was also expensive and they seemed more interested in the workers in their cabins than guests in the park. Next time we would travel the extra distance out to Yeppoon.

Thanks for that.
I looked on Google maps, and they're wedged between the highway and the train line........and with the above info, they're struck from the list......

GeoffA, is this the Gracemere Caravan Park (http://www.google.com.au/maps?q=&layer=c&z=17&iwloc=A&sll=-23.424482,150.461718&cid=4733876840596943119&cbp=13,31.7,6.0,0,0&panoid=EUhoSWisDRwRngazykNF0Q&q=gracemere+caravan+park&sa=X&ei=EW-EUen5BqajigfAuIHYAw&sqi=2&ved=0CK8BEKcfMAs) your refering to?...we had a one night stop there last year...it was pleasant enough, not sure I would want to stay there for 5 days unless I had to...reasonably quiet though...limited traffic noise, except for the distant clickety clack of transport trains, which went on and off through the night. Sites were well kept, flat, with nice green grass...yeah I'd stop there again.

We just had a night there. Was OK. We got asked to move, we thought we were in the right place but alas we were not as no markings, as were were taking up powered spots, in what we thought was a non powered area... Any way the only reason was "we might get a big rig in and they cant reverse or park properly..." moved and had no issues. Heard a couple of things but nothing major.
