We have been told our boy didn't make the cut and has to go back to the breeder to be sold to a family. No we aren't allowed to keep him. So today is his last day at home. On the upside they have a new half shepherd/timber wolf which is two weeks old. One will be coming with us in 3 months.
Take care Etch

I think he became a softy after being spoilt too much :)
-
He was spoilt but I think he should have made the cut. Liz made him work pretty hard but they are the experts. With a bit of luck the NSW K9 might take him like the last dog who didn't like slippery floors.

No doubt pretty tough having to see him go!
Any reason given why he didnt make it?
-
I couldn't do that.... we would get attached to the dog and not want to let him go....

Is there any chance of getting any more information on how to be that family? The last Shepard we had was an ex security dog and was the best dog we ever had. Now I have a 9 yo that has been on at us to get another one and I think the time has come to let her have her way ;D

Awe man that sucks.
All over one lousy Jocky wheel ripping off new camper incident......................
Looking forward to seeing the pics of the new one tho, would be a tough looking pup I think.

I would end up with a housefull of dogs and be known as the crazy dog man, no way I could give them back!
My sister used to work for the RSPCA but had to quit because she wanted to adopt every dog that couldn't find a home.

Thems the rules unfortunately. You can contact the dog squad and they may put you onto the breeder so you can put your name down to get a dog that doesn't make it. Only a quarter of the dogs make it.
-
Mate, that is a cute bundle of fluff! I dont know how you can let go of them after having them for so long.
Cheers

Well that was hard work. Etch will go to a new home this week. Hopefully they will look after him. Saw the wolf shepherd today, only two weeks old and as cute as a button.

have to agree with the others.

So ... what's the secret to NOT letting them into your heart? You are a stronger willed individual that I. Even the kittens I raise sneak their way in amongst the heart strings ... and I know they won't stay. Still very hard to let them go. I wonder if the families that take them will love them as much as I do and treat them right.
It's a sad day Fuji.

Thanks kit-e, I just cleaned out his run and washed his blankets. I'm okay now but couldn't bare to look at him as we drove off. Have plenty of photos on the gopro. I will get a photo blown up.

Goes to show there is a softer side to our boys in blue. Now if I look at you with big puppy dog eyes when you pull me over, will you let me off ?
