I think I heard about this at the camping show. Good on you for actually having a crack at improving your trailers, rather than just talking about it. :cup:

Yup looking forward to getting my new and improved LM cruiser.
I believe your guru has just returned from fixing them up :-)

The guru has returned.

Lol not yet. But by the end of the year we will have a full aus made trailer. And I don't mean imported tub and tent. I mean full local EVERYTHING.

Hi everyone
Can't keep a secret for to long I guess. I was lucky enough to be offered a job with leisure matters and am really loving my new role. I have just come back from 3 weeks in China and the guys over there were very accommodating to whatever I suggested. Talk about copping one for the team, I have eaten everything from donkey to dog to pigs face to fried bugs. So if it pulls a cart or wags a tail to getting swatted by a newspaper....it will be eaten. I was even exposed to a Chinese bath house with 200 naked men showing off the prized jewels.....I will save that story for another day lol.
Over the coming year we have many changes, some which will take effect immediately and we have 3 new models on the table....one which I am hoping will be here in the next 6 weeks or so.
Chinese camper trailers have been around for a while, and many of these products have copped bad press over the years. It is my job to fix it and can say the way they build there campers overseas is every bit as good as what we do here. But it's the silly little things they do and the lack of knowledge on the Chinese designs that lead to these niggly problems. I have made it my goal to eliminate all of these faults and problems and in time the only complaint our customers will have is getting the time to go camping !
While I was in china I also helped the company we deal with streamline there operation and also implement a quality check system which will be of great benefit to everyone importing campers from this company. The owner (I call him smiley as his name is beyond my pronunciation) of this company is pretty happy as he can now double his output and with the procedures I have implemented they should not have too many comebacks.
Between Nathan and myself, we are going to organise an open day at our Sydney branch over the coming months for my swag members and Facebook friends. This will be a great opportunity for you guys to come in and crawl all over our products. I am hoping to also have a monster raffle with $1000's worth of giveaways and all proceeds to be donated to various charities. At leisure matters nothing is small, so when we say open day it will have everything from free bbq's to face painting and jumping castles for the kids and might even sneak a few beers in the fridge.
Also like us on Facebook for all the latest news and also go into a monthly draw for a free giveaway every month.
So watch this space as there are some pretty exciting things under way.
Cheers

Have to say it sounds like you have things going forward .... The tent on my trailer is a leisure matters tent i picked up off ebay like new and it has been great .... Whats the chances of buying just the tent top when i build my new and improved camper ?

I agree with Mark, perhaps a name change would be a good idea, otherwise newer members of the forum might get the impression that you are still involved with Trackabout campers or that trackabout campers are importing campers from china.
