We bought one the same as this second hand for $150 some time ago. Have used it a bit, but now seems very hard to light. Click, click, click. Is there a jet we should look at and clean ? Anyone using one? thanks in advance.

Hi Hargs,
Do yourself a favour, put the Primus to rest and lash out on a tankless gas hotwater system.
We replaced our old Primus unit with a Rio Grande tankless, much more user friendly...even came in handy recently while doing some reno work on our home bathroom. :cup:
Edit: Here's a couple of old threads for inspiration.

you will need a pump of at least 4.3 LPM
like this one......

We have the pump setup on the camper with a switch and plumbed to a 60 lt water tank just for showering.
We just pop on the hose connection and gas conection and hang it on a star piquet.
The shower rose has an on/off swich so when you turn it off the pump stops as it is a pressure pump.

Hey Woodsie, I just bought one of these pumps and was a bit surprised at how small they are. Haven't tried it out yet. What's your opinion of them. Cheers Marschy
-
The pumps are pretty much all the same...they only get a work out on trips so should last for a long time . They are a bit noisy but the pressure is enough to have a good shower and the beauty of them being a pressure pump is that they only run as you need them so it is controlled by your tap whilst you are using it.

I brought the Rio Grande, 6 LPM Pump (Brought from BCF) and sit it in my Jerry Can Holder!
Awesome Product..... Saw it on eaby but got it a bit cheaper through the website at www.blackdiamondsupplies.com.au (http://www.blackdiamondsupplies.com.au)...

Those instant hws are the shizz. i have mine in the front tool box on braided flex hoses. To use pull out of box and hang on the drawbar. Turn on a couple of valves and off you go. i have a hot tap in the kitchen and two outlets (hot and cold) on the front box. Connect two garden hoses to the shower stand, here the temps are controlled by two small taps made up out of brass sprinkler stop valves.

yes x 2 bought this one, used it on the weekend. Worked great...need a frame and need to sort the shower....
-
Hey guys, that instant hot water set up has got me seriously thinking about getting my own... :cup:Well done, just a question, how much water do you think you would use just having a normal shower with that set up?
Cheers AJ
-
probably to much......depends on your pump and how quick you can be !!!!
-
With a 4.3 lpm pump you would not use excessive amounts....just enough for a good flow to wash off the suds
-
I got the 4.3 with mine (package deal)... Does the job fine I guess No real complaints..
Actually only one, Becasue its a bit slower it gets alot hotter, so i just turn down the gas
