Wanted to post here similarly to one on the other main CT forum:
Though we lost our deposit to the long insolvent former proprietors, our order was fulfilled promptly by Rob Moore of Jimboomba Trailers and Fabrication, http://www.jimboombatrailers.com.au/ (http://www.jimboombatrailers.com.au/) who originally established the business and sold it to the insolvents. They didn't pay him out and he has taken the business back, entirely ethically through the administrators, effectively taking care of employees by paying for stock even though he was the major creditor - as I understand it anyway.
Anyway, he sure took care of us. We only had to delay our holiday a few days, our CT was done in a week by employees working overtime, including the foreman who developed the original Jimboomba ally product line - though ours was a fairly basic spec, they up-specced it significantly at no cost because they like to do things robustly and properly - and I added a couple of requirements in at the last minute. All no problem.
Can't recommend highly enough. Rob knows what he is doing and can be relied on, technically and commercially.
We had a great roadtrip for most of Dec/Jan to from Bris to Melb and back. Will post a few pics.

Yeah, weight and rust resistance, why we chose them of course - it wasnt going to be possible to get near substitute until Rob showed up.
Hadn't seen the other thread mentioned below - there is more over there, should probably close this one.
Pics attached - at factory on pickup and outside home on return 7 weeks and 7,000 km later - as new :)

Took my trailer down to Rob and the boys on Saturday for some work to be done. I must say I was very impressed with everybody there.

Great news about the Jimboomba camper. The family joining us on our trip got theirs just before they stopped production. He'll be very happy.
Well done to new owners.

One thing that crosses my mind: why did he sell it in the first place, and what made him decide to start building trailers again?
-
He sold becuase he wanted to make money out of the sale and go into another business.
He may have vendor financed the sale as so many people do and got caught up in the failure. So probably bought back in to recoup some money and retake control of what was once a reasonable business.
You would be surprised at how often this happens. People buy there first business who have worked for someone for however many years and think they know what they are doing....yet they have no idea of cashflow, finance, tax, costs etc etc...................its not that easy......otherwise everyone would be doing it.

It happened to my parents, to a degree - they sold their hardware store to a young bloke who'd worked for them for years, and assisted with his finances - then he went and put a heap of automotive-related tools and equipment into stock, going massively over his head in capital, and he and they nearly lost the lot. With their help he traded out of his mistakes, and is going well with the business today.
Great to hear Jimboomba is back up and running with Rob at the helm.

Great to see that the original owner is back in business and fulfilling orders for customers.
Lets hope he can restore the name of the brand he created.
-
Aren't there two companies involved here. Jimboomba campers which went bust, and Jimboomba trailers owned by Rob?
-
It's All Good Offroad Pty Ltd t/a Jimboomba Camper Trailers
and
Jimboomba Trailers & Fabrication Pty Ltd
Latter of which until Dec made all kinds of custom trailers EXCEPT campers under a non-compete, now making those as well, rebranding to be sorted out I guess.

This is great news.
