Are camper trailers (soft floor type) in QLD registered as a normal 7X4 trailer would be? my 7X4 box trailer is around $170 a year to register i am wondering if the camper will be the same.

It seems to depend on the weight of the trailer. We upgraded to a new trailer (soft floor box trailer but bigger) and had to get a full sized number plate and paid more rego. But from memory our old box trailer soft floor camper was only around the $100 mark so maybe you are paying the higher price already???

Thanks sonny you are right mate it does go on weight, I had a look at the QLD transport site 750kg or less is $89 a year over 750kg is $174. I had my box trailer (under 750kg) mixed up with my boat trailer (over 750kg).

You are dead right there Jasjul in, QLD trailer rego has risen nearly 100% in the couple of years.

over 750kg will also require a safety cert, as it will need to have trailer brakes fitted.
Cheers Chippy :D
