Geale is the major favorite for this fight. He is the title holder and his last 5 fights have all be tough opponents, Mundines last 5 have all been chumps.......:-)

Watched some awful boxing results on foxtel the other night. Worse than a Don King fight.. Teddy Atlas went away and watched it again (http://www.badlefthook.com/2012/6/10/3076101/pacquiao-vs-bradley-video-teddy-atlas-espn-interview-corruption-boxing-robbery-hbo-boxing-news) and couldn't come up with the result even close to the 3 judges. IT was in Sth America, so nothing goes.
Everyone wants mundine destroyed. I don't know anyone who wants him to win... Sadly I think he will.

That little patch of fuzz on his head pretty much sums him up >:(. Absolutely zero time for him. Hope he gets belted about for a while then completely snotted. Doubt it would shut him up though.

If you take out the head butts and elbows Mundine didn't throw much at all ;D , Geale was his usual self.............the human dynamo :cup: great combos, awesome head movement and heavy hands right to the end.

Geale, honestly acted with true class over an absolute fool. The way Geale protrayed himself before and after the fight is the sign of a true champion. Mundine, take note.....

Without Anthony 'The Mouth' Mundine, this fight along with most other australian fights would have been a non event with little or no media coverage and very low 'pay per view' figures.

i have not watched a Mundine fight in years, anyone who pays to watch him or goes to a club / pub to watch him fight is just putting $$ in his pocket, and i refused to do that. i'm more then happy to watch the result later on the telly the next day ;) though i did watch a free live link coverage call lastnight whilst i surfed the net 8)

Kostya tszyu made a lot of money without ever stooping to the disgusting behaviour of the racist mundine.
Geale had two world titles under his belt and could of made more money defending both of those titles overseas. So you could say he threw mundine a bone... especially after mundines overseas popularity was demonstrated in las vegas when he attracted 127 people fighting a 47 year old.
I don't judge people on the amount of money they make as most have to sell their soul to get it. So mundine has earnt 10c for every person in australia who hates him. Not the greatest of legacys to leave, especially when all of australia would have loved to back him if he wasnt a lying racist. Its a shame because he could have been great but the fact is he never defeated a champ, he never won a world title - he took the easier route of fighting for interim or vacated belts. The only time he's fought the beltholder he's been shown to be substandard - ottke, kessler and geale.

As per my previous post, two very good athletes. Mundine got beaten but not flogged. But he should be now, for his complete lack of sportsmanship in defeat. For him to suggest he was robbed is a disgrace.
I was even more disappointed to see those sorts of comments from SBW and Quade Cooper, in support of Mundine. "Corrupt judges" I think they said. I wonder if Tony Mundine buys into all his sons crap; Tony had class.

I was very lucky a very loooooooooooooong time ago to have a beer in Sydney - little bit underage - with Lionel Rose after his fight with Hirada the bloke from Japan and came home with the world title. Bloody top bloke.
Had a few with Tony Mundine another top bloke.

If we didn't give him the attention he craved he would piss of into another sport or simply fade away and boxing & the entire country would be better for it... It is unfortunate that any conversation about Mundine/Geale ALWAYS revolves around "how bad Mundine is" rather then about "just how good Geale is" :( Even the promotion leading up to the fight was mostly about Mundines **** talking. Geale deserves wayyyyyyy more recognition IMO. Anyone who is a true fan of boxing would realize just how great Dan is being only the fourth Aussie to unify a title, the only Aussie to beat a German on their own home turf not once but twice etc etc...
Anyway, Sam Soliman to fight Felix Sturm next and the winner is mandatory to challenge Geale within 90 days. After that Dan reckons Martinez & Golovkin are on the cards. I don't think we will have much time to wait to see him perform again & again. Dan knows he is at his best and nows the time to rise to the very top before it's too late for him and he says he is going for it in 2013. When you talk to any of the great fighters and ask them what they regret the most....ITS INACTIVITY!!!

If you think boxing is so corrupt, maybe you should do the boxing world a favour and quit?

You want to be a role model for Aboriginal children? Well act like one. How dare you question anyone about their race or self identity. I have nothing against you being proud of your heritage. That’s admirable. But implying that Geale is somewhat lesser because YOU have dictated that he’s not an Aboriginal (who gave you that right by the way?) is reprehensible, and you know what…racist.
I also think it’s disgusting to question a man’s integrity because he married a ‘white woman’. And here I was thinking that love should transcend such things. But what would I know? Again, in my eyes, that paints you as a racist.
You had (have) so much talent as a sportsman. You could have had every Australian backing you. And you could have furthered Aboriginal rights and been the very role model you claim to be…if you just weren’t such a d--k head.

That is a nothing fight for Geale, an absolute waste of time for Geale.
A fight against Soliman will do nothing for his career except flog a fellow 39 year Aussie fighter who has no future in the sport.
I won't pay to see it.
Full credit to Soliman though, no one gave him a chance to beat Sturm.

I have a feeling will want to have a major fight overseas to challenge for another belt as unfortunately sam isnt a drawcard and geales team will be chasing the dollars.

I agree it's not really a step up for his career but what was his options really? The titles come with contracts...It was always going to be Soliman or Sturm in the IBF eliminator bout...Dan wants to fight overseas but if he dodges his mandatory challenger he will be stripped of the title, it's in his contract that he has 90 days to defend it. And Soliman deffinately deserves a shot, he is coming off 8 consecutive wins and has earnt the chance to challenge for it with his recent victory. They are both great blokes, both great athletes, both hungry and as much as I agree with you that it will be all Geale I still can't count Sam out completely, especially with his crazy awkwardness. It won't be "fight of the year" but it will still be a good one, more so because the titles stay here in Aus regardless :)

As much as i respect sam, he is nearly 40 and should have done it before now. His fighting style is very unorthodox and can and has made great boxers look bad so he has never been an attractive option. They might even pay hime to drop his mandatory?
