Hi All,
For all of you who have showers and pop up tents, I notice that Aldi have a special that starts on Wed 30th 2013 with a slatted bamboo shower mat. 50 x 80cm. $19.99
http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_25283.htm (http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_25283.htm)
What do you use?
-
EVA mats
-
eva mats with the holes in them here
-
A rubber mat from Bunnings for about $6. It doubles as the mat at the door of the camper.

You can see it just under the esky.

We bought a small cgear mat from camping bug, 1/2 price too.
See http://www.campingbug.com.au/CGEAR-Beach-Mat-or-Shower-Mat.html (http://www.campingbug.com.au/CGEAR-Beach-Mat-or-Shower-Mat.html)

We use the Eva camp mats too.
-
Thanks everyone - JB, photo of the shower? I am pleased I did not ask about a porta-poti!
-
We use a piece of shade cloth it's also big enough for a replacement on the stone guard .
-
We also use the cgear :)
-
EVA matts with the holes in :D
-
Use the waffle boards off the top of your car, they'll keep you off the grond nicely. Plus they get a good clean as well. ;D
-
What are waffle boards?

I had to Google them as I didn't know what they're called, but we use EVA mats also! :D
-
I use Eva mats as well, they're a little bulky but weigh next to nothing.
-
We use door mat. Same as JB's I am thinking
-
we stand in a medium sized plastic dog bed. :D serious.... :cup:

Very cool. Thanks for the education. I learn something new everyday, and more often than not it is usually something that I have already previously learnt and not remembered, but not in this case...I think!
-
We planned on using the mats shown below, but seeing as I'd taken them out of the tool box and forgotten to repack them :( we used out Shadecloth "doormat" we picked up from the Carvan and Camping show for $15! 1.2m and 900mm Worked ok. feet Clean and water ran away ok, but think these solid plastic mats would be better as they elevate you a bit from the ground......
-
Looks good. I think a visit to C. Rubber is on the cards.
-
We use something similar to this:

I think it was about $10 at the big green shed. It doubles as bump protection on the inside of our offside box.

I've actually been thinking about this for awhile, I have noticed most Shower tents don't have floors and if they do they are very light weight.
Just wondering what would be the best way to Catch the water so to speak that would pack easily? Sort of like a big rectangular bucket with a waffle board floor to stand on?
I've been to a few Camp sites where if you had water run off you couldn't use your own shower, you had to use the "block".
That way I could choose where the water runs off?

We use a small cutout of Fake grass. It dosent let any sand or mud or anything up through it & drains perfectly. Also no mold if packed up wet.

We use an EVA mat on top of a bit of shade cloth for added protection from sand and mud.

This great stuff, i use it for carpet, dash matt and a floor matt in the rear of the Falcon work van.

Like the idea of standing on grass. Might use it at home!
-
We stand in plastic tiling bucket from Bunnings, that way you collect all the water and if you have to use what's in the bucket to wash your feet at the end! This does help to keep water consumption down. Mind u three of us have previously each had a shower using a total 5L of water!

That shower looks a bit cold for my liking!!!
-
Seen one of these bread pallets used as a floor in the shower....... the guy would turn it upside down, then put those clip together cheap foam mats on top...... when carting it, he used to just chuck the mats inside the pallet, and any other bits and pieces, and as his CT had no slide draws etc (just a tail gate kitchen), he would just push the pallet loaded with what ever, up into the front corner of his CT.
-
You can also use these ... they come in many colours / types / styles / sizes ... are waterproof, dry quickly, and can be used on all kinds of surfaces ... except mud ... where I believe they are prone to blowouts.

I also had to google EVA mats, but that is what we have.
Gotta get a mesh floor made up.
Now to try and get SHMBO to learn what a short shower is :P
I thinks she wants me to cart a water tank around Aus with us...
oh and here is a truckies workboot blow out on the spot fix
