Thanks, Oswald.
Hope that everyone further south than us is ready to get a drenching over the coming days.
Cheers,
Matto :)

Aah Queensland, perfect one day, drowned the next 8) ;D

Glad we left Mackay yesterday!

Just saw Tully on the 1PM news.
Looking particularly wet, with water 1m deep over roads.
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains
Says it all really.

Yes mate it's a bit wet here alright.
Heaviest rain I've seen in years in Tully.

Can i have some please.... very dry around here.

gday Matto
Send South any you don't need!! Even as I type a big storm has rumbled it's way from Nymboida to the west of Grafton & not dropped a single thing on us. It's as dry as a dingo d!ck in the Simponson here, we really need an 1" a night for the next week just to settle the dust. At work, we spend about $600 each night we irrigate, doesn't take long for the water bill to get scary!! :o

I spoke too soon. It's just started to spit rain. I reckon if I lay really still on the lawn, I might get hit by a rain drop.......
-
Have ya luck Bevan, I can hear a slight rumble, than again it's getting close to Tucker time so it might just be my gut protesting ;D
I'll go get another can and watch it go by yet again >:D

Will do Jeepers and Bullfrog.
Jeepers - I suspect you'll be seeing this rain in a couple of days :)
Here's a photo snagged from the "NQ Flood Update" facebook page. This is taken down near where family of ours live. The road starts at the bottom left, curves around where the marker posts are, and then goes over the bridge (start of the bridge is about level with the two trees just right-of-centre). Across the other side, you can just see some white guide posts - the bridge terminates with a T-junction onto the highway.
The photo is taken from "the wrong side" of the river - they'll all be stuck in for a few days until it goes down. We were down there on Saturday and drove over the bridge, was probably 2m clearance down to the river below. Got a message from Damo earlier, he's been sinking cans and walking around in the rain/mud with his girls.

See they where saying that it is approx 5 mtrs over the Cooktown crossing ..... a good flush out of the river system .

I'm up at work missing all the rain action,,,,,,, am hoping the rain stops next week, and the fishing in the inlet picks up. Its been ordinary the past few months (for me anyway)..... good rain is my last hope, to improve the fishin'.... if that doesn't work, i'm selling my bloody tinny!!!

Gotta love the sound of rain hitting grass.
Been light rain here since 7am and its gunna hang around by the forecast for a while yet.
And, mowermen don't work in the rain.... got 2 cartons of beer on hand, so i'm set up for the wet season for the next 2 days.

Yep. fridge is full.
Hopefully i can get tomorrows dozen lawns done before i get too wet. If not, they'll have to wait.
SWMBO once asked,"How is it you can't work in the rain, but you can play golf in a cyclone?"
"Priorities".
