Your "Improvise, adapt and overcome" Tag line is well deserved.
Now what do you do about red wine stains on the carpet beside the PC desk!
-

if the laptop still works you can actually disconnect the old keyboard and just plug an external.. isnt very mobile but should work.

A stanley knife works on really stubborn ones, just got to find a patch of carpet in a cupboard that matches, and a tin of contact..

Within the first week, of my very first laptop, my veryfirst and very expensive laptop, glass of water and laptop met in a clumsy moment of taking a drink.
end result; fried mother board.
Very expensive lesson that.

I used to work with a girl who in the space of 6 months spilt 4 glasses of water, two cans of coke, a cup a soup, 3 cups of coffee and the final killer, a curry laksa onto her keyboard.

When I was a CIO I would have given her an Etcha-sketch and said don't come back.

;D
Perhaps too technical for her, maybe a blackboard and Chalk.

We fix it with all of them except the laksa. She wasn't allowed to eat or drink in the studio from then on

Try some of the lenovos. Carbon X1 will resist a spilt drink. Speaking from experience it works. It was a major reason to go for it, especially as it will take a drop. Clumsiness is something I have in spades with things I like, the ugly crockery is however as safe as houses.

All my HP laptops have watermproof keyboards.

I cant really get angry, I was giving my youngest a big hug and a shake after getting home from work, while sitting at the desk, and bingo over the stubby went...
-
finally, a robust, splash resistant laptop ;D
