I dont mind a bit of TV, it just irrates me that the good drama and cop shows are late at night.

All the Kitchen/dancing/singing/reno shows are at that 7.30pm time slot and good the good shows like Hawaii Five O and the Law and Order series are on later at night.

Bring back the good old Aussie drama like Blue Healers and the like.

Well at least David Attenborough gets another go next year ... I love seeing the birds and the bees going at it in the name of surviving human destruction.  And there is the second half of the Dr Who series to look forward to as well.   Always a good movie or two on SBS or the ABC ...

As for the rest of that "reality" sewerage ... you can flush it for all I care.   >:(

Get foxtel. $20 a week. Record and watch when u want. Can't remember the last time I watched free to air.

Just watched the entire sopranos from beginning to end y series link.

Another option is buy a PVR (personal video recorder) that supports ICE TV. Subscription is $50-100 per year and it records any of your favorite programs on TV allowing you to watch later and skip the ads. Even live tv can be left for 15mins and watched skipping through ads.  I just have keywords like Malcolm Douglas, fishing, war etc etc and anything fitting the genre or title records. Haven't watched TV live in 4 years and don't see ads.  ;D

You can even skip through Pat Callinan bleating on about his mighty Patrol in his show

Foxtel would be awesome if
- didnt have commercials like it originally suckered people in with.
- it wasnt the same episodes of rubbish time and time again just swapped around onto different channels, EG: a show will be on TV1 one week, Comedy next week, UKTV the following week then rinse and repeat... . Rubbish like Prisoner on UKTV? WTF?
- if you could pay for just the 4-5 channels you want for $5 a week.

Instead of blerting that they give you 12908420394023948 channels when 95% of them are just Shit that nobody watches.
Shopping channels? Jesus channels?  Yes you dont need to watch them, but it could bring the price down.

Good point lost and agree 100%. I am sure they have done the market research but I reckon $10 a week for everything would sign up heaps more.

I rarely channel surf just watch the recordings. He kids on the other hand - channel roulette!

Fortunately for you Foxtel has all of this running continuously, particularly Law & Order if that is your thing.
Unfortunately (& as noted by Dazzler & Lost) you have to pay for it, and then still watch ads (& lots of them) which stands on its head: paying to watch advertising. Record everything and skip them is the only way to watch TV these days.
But far and away the WORST fox channel is sci fi: a brilliant opportunity to showcase a VARIETY of shows that alas has stargate & 500 versions of Star Trek and little else.
Time to read more books and go fishing....

Can't stress it enough guys, a beyonwiz or topfield recorder and ICE TV. No more ads and more TV than any rational person needs to watch.

I have 1 addiction that needs addressing, and that is supporting a non QLD based AFL club. Can't get the games on free to air up here, so if ICE will broadcast the games I'm in.
