Found this, thinking as a potential weekender. However it is listed as on the 'written off vehicle register'. What does that mean from an insurance etc. perspective?

Hey mate,
have a look here.. http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Registration/Registering-vehicles/Written-off-vehicles/Written-off-vehicle-register.aspx (http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Registration/Registering-vehicles/Written-off-vehicles/Written-off-vehicle-register.aspx)
there is now a national register that all written off vehicles must be recorded on.

Been for a swim perhaps?

CAVEAT EMPTOR........

The ad says non structural. Could be hail damage, been for a swim, exwife went to town on it with a baseball bat, or stolen and recovered with mechanical damage. I believe the dealer is legally obligated to give exact details and the Vicroads report should confirm this too. Any car on the register is always going to be less valuable and harder to sell, some are bargins if you know what your looking at and plan on it being a long term vehicle. They may also be harder to insure?
Give the dealer a call, if your still comfortable with it give your insurance company call. Make sure you know exactly what your getting yourself in for first.

Hmmm it has had both diffs and transfer case rebuilt, my guess is it went for a swim. Oh well, you know what they say, if it is too good to be true it usually is.

Someone must have taken the punt on it, I just tried to open the link and got the:
"This car is no longer for sale" message. ???
