Title: Dipping the toes in after a decade lol
Post by: ewwreckers on November 10, 2012, 08:19:34 AM
So both the kids are off to friends houses tonight (daughter's been gone since yesterday) what to do, what to do?  Take the MG for drive, take in a movie, and spend a night in a luxurious motel for the night with fine wine and dining?  Nope.....we're going camping for the night lol  Hmmmm wonder if after 10 years I can still remember how to find the back of a tree lol

Hey yeah, after ten years, they won't remember what goes where, who does what or anything.

It is, as Xcvator said, just like riding a bike, it might've been a while and ya might be a bit wobbly, and go the wrong way once or twice, but baby, just keep pumpin then there pedals.

All good fella's!  With the aid of google I think we'll know what we're doing :P
Got the sign, the grog, the tent, oh, better pack the food too I spose, and hope that Vic manages to get away from work early

If the feet in the door of the tent are anything to go on, there's gonna be a lotta bum-bumping going on!

I think the toes need to point the same way, or at each other, rather than away from each other!

Then again, mebbe it's the next chapter in 50 Sheds of Grey?

We survived lol  Was a great night out, but definatley need a checklist.  Took the battery for the torch, forgot to stop at the workshop and get the torch, took the gas canister for the little burner to boil the kettle, forgot to stop at the workshop and grab the burner lol  We were only in Lake Cargelligo (35k's from home) and if we had the kids we would have gone back to get them, but it was just us, we had one little LED torch, and the kettle could be boiled on the fire, so all good.  Stop at Lake, fishing licences - check, bait - check, lattes - check, back in the car yeehaa lets go...f*ck we forgot ice so back into the servo we go.
Lake Brewster was gorgeous!  We camped away from the camp area (didn't want to scar the poor grey nomads that were camped there)had camp set up, rods in the water, and drinks in our hand pretty quick smart!
And because  :worthles: here ya go....I kept the pics family friendly ;)

My first fish of the trip, only a carp, but it was something lol  Score at the end of the weekend was 4-5...I think the only reason Vic was ready to leave when we did was he was worried I was going to catch up to him lol  And yes, we do have some 'one that got away' stories lol

Waking up to views like this was pretty rough

Before heading home we thought we'd try a river crossing, last time we tried one was during the floods in Walgett last December when we were trying to get home.  This one was much more successful

OK, so maybe we cheated a little lol

The main camping area.  There's a long drop dunny, fire pits with campover cooking frames above.  It's free, and a great spot to camp for anyone that's interested in heading bush.

Got the camping bug now and can't wait to head out again!
Oh and it turns out, it's just like riding a bike!
Ducking behind a tree I mean :P
