Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with putting a dingy on top of the swan outback. If so do you have a suggestion of size and width or type of dingy suggested. ???
I am looking at the Quintrex Explorer 370 or the Stacer Proline 379, also wondering about fitting a long shaft 15hp motor what thoughts are out there.
Please help as I am confused what to buy/do? ???

Gday Tuffprada Ive got the same problem! The racks on the Flamingo can hold 100 kilo"s. I spose the Swan is the same. I was thinking of a boat around 50 - 60 kilo, remembering you have to lift it up there!! Good luck Phil

Yes all the dingies I have looked at are around 80 to 90 kgs. Not to bad to lift between my son and I however we are still waiting for ours to arrive, how wide are your racks and how long are they?

I've gone down this path.
Good for me down Vic and southern NSW.

Just a quick question does anyone know how wide the boat racks are on the 2012/11 Swan/ Flamingo outback?
-
They'll be the same width as the racks on mine (see pic below), they go the full width of the roof/camper, which is about 2.1m I think. Check the spec sheet out on the website for the overall width of the camper. The 2012 models aren't any wider than mine (2010).

try one of these for size.
3.7m, 50kg, 8hp = 30kph 2 up. pretty flash performance. Most 9.8hp 2 stroke motors only weigh 26kg and use the same powerhead as the 8hp so reasonable to expect performance closer to the 10hp(9.9hp) but with a 10kg weight saving.... or stick a 15hp on it and lay out some rooster tails.

I just bought a Stacer 349 Cartopper it weighs about 58kg can take 4 adults if needed i have a 5HP four stroke on ours and with me in it it will do 26kph. Being a V nose design it handles the chop really well. I can unload and load it my self off our Cub Supamatic Escape Off Road with no problems at all.

I have a 3.55 stacer v nose weight 68kg . What worried me is the rack is only held on with teck screws i always pictured the wind getting under the boat and somthing letting go as the roof is only ply and fibreglass plus if you move a round a lot it is a pain to take the boat on and off every time you set up for a night ect .
good luck ehsc
