Folks,
We visited Sydney on the weekend. Alas, my kids got a bit sick on the weekend and one of them had vomited on the way home. Any ideas for getting the smell out of the carpet. We are going camping this weekend, so several hours in the car ahead of us.

bi-carb works well on that sorta thing

Get hold of a product called Vomit Control. We use it at school, soaks up the vomit and has a really pleasant odour that masks the smell. Just leave it on and vacuum or sweep up after. Fantastic stuff. Every family with young children should have some.

yep agree with that. place say an ice cream lid with a generous amount of bi carb on it right next to the vomit and leave the car shut up overnight and as long as you can and you will notice the bi carb turned brown. it absorbs the smell.

Can you encourage them to wind down the window (8/10 it's lack of fresh air) or say "Yo Mum ... I'm gonna puke"? ;D
x 3 on the Bi-carb.

On occasion we have had car sick kids, we now keep a stash of sick bags, like the hospital ones, in the glove box.
To get the smell out of upholstery and carpet I have found the Kitten upholstery cleaner successful.

You could vomit over the kids vomit to neutralise the smell
Its called the opposite vomit effect

Agree with the other posts.
Also, go and buy a new car smell air Freshener sachet and follow the directions.

I bought a new car once because we could not get rid of the smell, we were getting an expanding family as well

unload a can of Pine Fresh in the car and lock the doors with the car packed in 35 degree sun.
It'll still smell like spew, but at least it will be spew in a pine forest. :D
