Hi All,
Who is planning on going to the Penrith show this weekend?
We will be there bright and early Saturday morning to order our KK!!! Probably do a bit of shopping as well (Have to back for cricket stuff). Depending how that goes we may go out on Sunday as well.

we're going on Saturday but have to vote first, then pick up some keys for a self storage unit. then on to Penrith to try and grab a bargain.
this years shopping list:
shower tent, awning, roof basket, fridge, spotlights.................... the list could go forever but the money wont
-
Know that feeling all too well. Our list is long, budget no so much.
Our main items (Aside from the KK) are a high lift jack, CGear matting and a table which will fit on the front of the KK.

oh and well done on the KK...........nice bit of kit .........always good to have a few more hard floor campers out there
-
Cheers,
It was a hard choice between the Aussie Swag and the KK. In the end personal preference went with the KK
-
if we had the money to spend i'ld choose an Aussie Swag but since my wife prefers Complete Campsite we would end up with a CC ;D
-
If I go I will only spend money and I have done too much of that in the last 3 months.

MDS69,
I am very lucky in that LB is just as keen a camper (if not more so) as I am so we are saving specifically to spend at the show.
LB is also just as dangerous as I am when we walk into Bunnings, have you ever noticed that the minimum spend at Bunnings is no less than $100!
Regards,
Bunyip
-
I would just like to add that Bunyip's list has a lot more $$$'s and flashing lights than mine does.
LB
-
What can I say, I'm in IT so I like the flashing lights.
Bunyip
-
Hey Bunyip and LB, I'll be there so might swing by the KK stand on Saturday morning. Gotta vote first, but will look out for the guy (and girl) with the great big ;D
Cheers,
Tim
-
Look forward to meeting you Tim.

Funny, Mrs Bussoboy likes Bunnings just as much as me too

Yep, going cashed up looking to finally purchase our camper trailer! EXCITED!
Just need to find time to get there.
Saturday
Netball Grandfinal
Karate
vote
People from interstate coming to pick up Prado.
Sunday
Georges River - all day.
So if I do find time to get to the show (oh I will find time!) then I need to put energy in getting a new 4WD to tow it with! Just need to figure out what to get and what my budget will be.

Should be able to beat any price on a good quality roof basket , even at the Penrith special prices...
-
Will be out there checking our Brix and hoping for a mates rate price...
-
I wonder how many CT's are sold at these shows?
The only problem is the rest of this week is going to drag on FOREVER. mind you , we will still have the wait for delivery which will go on forever and a day!
Lori,
What CT are you looking at?
Bunyip
-
One of our must haves in a camper was always a walk up style.
After alot of looking around we have decided on a lifestyle camper.

will be in touch when i have measurements, as i need a basket that will fit in around all the other stuff on my roof

Been to the show today..... 'WOW' the amount of caravans at the show is enormous, they are everywhere.
Had a look around, our little boy particuarly liked the icecream van and the giant fish tank.
I was a little excited to see Drifta, I didnt think they were doing shows anymore so it was really nice to be able to have a look over their gear.
Then we wondered over to lifestyle, had a chat with John about his camper lines and his inspiration for them. Nice guy and interesting to speak to, also a good salesman - he sold us a camper!
We will shortly be the proud new owners of a Lifestyle walkthrough
-
We went out today the traffic was banked back to the M4,had a good look around and your right about the caravans certainly seemed to be more than last year.
Speaking to a couple of friends who have stalls there and they are impressed with the crowd and seems as though they are spending well too.
I behaved myself and only bought one thing a BIJI BARBI will put it to good use as we are heading off on monday for 7wks going to SA,NT and then to the Kimberleys.
-
congrats Lori,
What is the wait for a Lifestyle at the moment?
We thought about going today but as it turned out it was a good thing we didn't.

If we want it fast we can have it in 4 weeks, if not they are happy to go on our schedule. We were there first buyers at the show. Bit of an easy sell for them though - we had done our research and decided to buy it at the show about 2 weeks ago.
Interesting point to the day was that NSW Fair Trading was wondering around checking prices and taking photos at different stands. Maybe they were checking that those 'show speacials' really are special!
-
Lori,
Very interesting.
We have a long shopping list for this show (Aside from the KK which like you we have already decided on we were just saving for the deposit). This year we have actually made a list and got some pricing before we go jsut to make sure we don't fall into the "It's a show so it's a good price" trap.

For anyone going out to the Show today or tomorrow I will be wearing a white broadrim cricket hat with a blue (Kings Langley Cricket Club) logo on the front.
Please say Hi if you see me, I have not met any other Swaggers as yet.

Went Yesterday (Friday) as I had the day off while it was busy it was comfortable to be able to move around without the usual pushing bumping sorry mate, and you could get to talk to people and look at stuff and being Friday wasn't to many rug rats running all over the place.
-
We went today and spent a lot more than we planned, but with what I ordered and what I already have coming my ute is almost finished. I also dropped out to Roo Systems shop in Silverwater and spent some more $$
-
Hi Bussoboy,
We were there this morning and will be back for most of tomorrow. Aside from the KK we didn't spend much today.
Bunyip
-
we bought a vacuum sealer and all the gear that goes with it, signed up for an ORS drawer system, and spent a few $$ on small bits in the ARB tent.
i looked over that "uber" KK camper...........if i had a spare $130K to waste.....i'ld put one in the garage
-
Bussoboy,
Yeah, we drooled over the Black Caviar as well. We then saw the TVan Topaz and figure that is more like what we would look at once our KK has done it's time.
Mind you we expect the KK to last us at least 10 years before we look at changing it out.

went on friday, bought a cub supamatic escape offroad with heaps of extras, pick up first week of november, happy days
-
rusti,
Conrats on the new camper.
Lots of Swaggers purchased CT's this weekend by the sound of it.
Our KK is mid-Nov. We could have had it mid-Oct but decided we would like the extra month to save a little f=more $ for the extra bits.

So did anybody look at Brix and if so thoughts please?

I looked at them at the Rosehill Show. The design seemed immature to me, I didn't like the external poles to hold the tent out at the rear.
I don't see any advatanges in the way it operates and the price seemed optomistic.
Apart from that I loved it ;).
-
seen one out @ wombeyan caves last time i camped out there.......... i'm sure they are well put together etc but too far the norm and not my cup of tea
