Hi, we have a Hyland Hitch on our Jayco Flamingo Outback camper. Was fitted when we bought the camper new in April last year. Since then we have been on the road most of the time and travelled 45,000 km. About a year ago we got a towball with a longer shank.
No problems freeing the hitch from the towball untill last the couple of days when have had a hell of a job getting the hitch off the towball when setting up camp. Hitch jams on ball rocking back on an angle and when we wind up jockey wheel the hitch does not clear the towball - it tries to lift the Hilux as well as camper.. Given probably done this 100 + times in last two years no probs not sure why having hassles now. When finally did get hitch off ball this morning I cleaned up hitch a bit. Sprayed bit of W40 but not sure if this will help. The locking pin is sliding free of the ball.
Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with a standard hitch after i bent the tongue that the ball bolts to, replaced the tongue no more probs, bent it getting firewood, up and over an erosion drain bent right under the ball.

I've had this if the trailer is on a difficult angle to the vehicle. Only fix I had was to leave the vehicle handbrake off and rock the vehicle back and forth a bit while winding the jockey wheel up.

Hi
I've had issues if I leave the CT brake on. Release the brake and CT moves just enough for the hitch to release no probs.
