Title: Full to the brim
Post by: TrentC on August 31, 2012, 05:59:22 PM
Just packing for our first weekend away with our new camper. Somebody please tell me you only take half of this stuff with you on your second trip.

General rule of thumb, if it does not have 2 uses or more then it stays home.
It takes practice to know what is needed and what is excess baggage.

When you find the formula let us know
Stuff seems to continue to appear every time we head off
The camper is ready to go but it always seems we need more??? I don't think so
But by Jove's we still I've it

When you go out with the CT full of gear , deploy all you can & what you cant ditch when yiou get home. Or if it survives 3 trips & its still unsused sell it quickly before it hides in the CT again . Every so often pull every thing out of the CT put it on the ground beside it then quietly replace it while thinking just why its there in the 1st place . Ditch the rest . At $1.50 a lite rfuel can get the better of you ,,,so ditch the excess for good . Use the extra space for the important stuff

Oh great, i'm about to start packing ours ready for our first CT trip.

I'd never ever leave my wife at home while i went away. She can't cook for sh1t, but it goes off like a frog in a sock.  ;D

Well we made it back and yes we discovered we took far too many clothes and shoes and too much food. The only two things we didn't take but have since worked out are the most important are matting for the annexe and a broom , kids + beach = sand everywhere.

And there you have it.  With all that other stuff you took, you forgot something important.  The "work it out as you go" rule of thumb is alive and well.  Dont' forget that beach / dirt / rainforest / alpine  ... whatever area you visit, your requirements will be different for each.
