reading yesterdays local paper and saw a small advert about a camper trailer manufacturer for sale, but mentioning no names, a quick google search came up with this page
http://www.businessmigration-sa.com/migrant/opportunities/1373-challenge-camper-trailers (http://www.businessmigration-sa.com/migrant/opportunities/1373-challenge-camper-trailers)
anyone heard anything along the "grapevine"?
how long has it been on the market for?
-
That's interesting. Gareth and Sandy must be retiring.
-
I think this will be a growing trend..
Apparently at least 2 more Victorian camper companies are on the brink, if the show this weekend doesnt bring sales, doors will close.
-
Weird... didn't they only recently buy out Cavalier?
-
They did just take on Caviler.
A shame as they are really nice people and sell a great product. I have seen them at the shows and always go and say high. The whole team are really friendly and happy to chat even though they know you are not buying.
Hope the business keeps going.....would be a shame to see another one go the way of Tambo etc....

For sale for $2.5million is a bit different to going belly up! Good luck to them... I don't think finding an investor with that kind of capital is going to be an easy task, especially in a declining market with so many other manufactures going bust!
-
I seen a add in news paper today saying they are selling their ex rentals.
Also on their website.

agreed, just asking if anyone knew anything,
sometimes businesses are placed on the market and "bad rumours" start (especially on forums)

The slice of the cake is getting smaller for most manufacturers. The rise in prices for australian made campers makes it hard to compete with the imports.
You now see imported tents on aussie made campers to try and keep costs down.
Regretfully it was only a matter of time for this to happen. As much as we would all like to support aussie made products we all want a bargain in some sense.
This is the tip of the ice berg as we will see alot more aussie manufacturers closing or heading off shore to try and compete in a tough market.
