Title: New canvas
Post by: Hilly77 on July 31, 2012, 10:03:49 PM
Swaggers just after some advice...

We recently purchased a new outback hawk and the manual states that I need to 'wet' the canvas prior to using it. So my question is is it as simple as that? Do I just hose it down and let it dry before closing it up? Should I repeat the process?

Sorry guys may be a stupid question but I am very new to this.

Thanks.

Gday Hilly.

Open it up and get the hose on to it and concentrate around the stitching too. Do that twice and let it dry well in between and jobs done

Hilly77 Welcome to MySwag , now set up the CT hose it as BD said . The cavvas will shrink a bit , seasoning as its known . Might take a few cycles to do , if it still leaks at the stiching go to a camping store & buy a stiching wax stick . That ort to do the job
