Hi John, when we were at Diamantina NP last holidays, in one night the rangers shoot 80 cats, the bloody things are every where.

I don't mind feral cats, a bit of garlic, and chilli and they roast up quite well. Just like bunny meat ;D ;D ;D
Might have to try one sometime to find out.

It wouldn't have the steroids and chemicals that retailed meat has. I guess it gives a different definition to the term "Here kitty kitty, time for lunch"...... >:D >:D

Cats are terrible creatures.
I can understand people like to have them inside the house, they're reasonably clean. However if you let them outside then they need to have a VERY heavy bell on their neck to save all the wildlife and of course de-sexed.

The Head Ranger here at Lake Gregory recently did a survey on the local small wildlife, and found some good sized colonies of Bilbies still where they should be. Given this area is an IPA (Indigenous Protected Area), most of the animals are protected, but if we seea feral cat, it receives a lead sleeping tablet really quick. Amazing what a .243 does to a feral cat, and it is "humane", as the cat dies too quickly no matter where it gets hit in the body.

yea, like wild cats, wild dogs dont do any damage either.

Last year we free camped near Broome and could hear the lady from a nearby Winnabago calling out for her cat. Seems her & hubby travel about with 2 cats & this one cat buggers off all the time for ages. ??? Of course it disappears. It needs it's fix of murder & mayhem.
Cats are amazing hunters and will account for birds & marsupials with ease. And another thing, they need at least 2 bells on their collar so that they can't syncronise their actions.
Too many owners fool themselves into believing that their lovely couch purrer wouldn't hurt a fly.
As my old mate used to say "I hate cats but I love pussy".

Trapped my fair share of cats while working as an enviro in the mining industry. They are an absolute scurge, check out the gut contents on this one and the size of the tabby, he was to big and stinky to cut open so I can only imagine what he had put away.
