Title: camping this weekend in fnq ?

Anyone getting out and about this weekend in Cairns , being a public holiday and all ?.
Looking at dragging the kids out for a break .

Any idea's would be welcome .

We are off to Kurrimine Beach, camping at King Reef Caravan Park with friends........

Thinking maybe Mount Spurgeon. We have the Monday as a public holiday but Cairns has the Friday so wherever we go is usually already packed out. Looking for somewhere 'new & out of the way'.

Plan ...... yeah, somewhere west of the rain-ges, maybe Emu Ck or somewhere... maybe west of Chicago on the river even.
Just a Mate, someones else's boy, my boy + me, the challenge, to camp, catch fish, eat said caught meal...
At this stage going Friday, back Sat  :'( mate has to work, were looking at doing Laura south through Palmer, but not at the moment with those extras up there...
