Hello,
we are travelling from Coral Bay to Cape Range National Park via Exmouth. Looking for knowledge on where I can fill my campers 80 litre water tank with drinking water, without having to pay (if this is possible). By the way, the weather is great around here at the moment!

Plenty of taps around town , most of which are drinking water . Not the ones at the footy oval tho .
Visitor centre , the servos , the taps on the service wharf at the marina are town water to .

Thanks for that, just not sure what the rules are with taking water from taps in general, didnt want to upset anyone! Was thinking there might be a designated spot, like there are designated dump points.

Tap at the visitor center is free and allowed
You can fill up at coral bay in the van park but it is a bucket and funnel job.
Most of the van parks around there have 3 or 4 potable water taps
Ps how long are you in cape range as 80l will not go far as it is hot and dry we were there in 4 weeks ago and i always buy 2 15 litre waters from the IGA there to throw in the jerry can holders and 1 more stays in the car to top our water bottles up with. This is on top of the 60l tank under the goldstream you will be suprised how much water you go through in that desert environement in a day as it is not like coral bay there is minimal shade

if you don't ask, it's regarded as 'not very nice' at best and theft at worst, but I'm sure when you fill your fuel tanks, ask nicely if you can do the same with water.. (but ask about the water first - in case the servo doesn't have a drinking water tap)

Thanks Chester and GeeTee. We'll be carrying heaps of fresh water in containers, but also wanted to fill the tank up with drinkable water. Thanks for the heads ups on Cape Range NP.

Hi Pipsky, the weather is usually pretty good up there when a cold front is passing over the southwest of the state, but blowing its guts out when a high is in the same spot.
Heading up that way in sept so fingers crossed.

We have 5 days booked in mid August up there bush camping .... Then we have another 9 days to do anything we want...

The visitors center in exmouth has a couple of taps specifically for filling up the trailer.. Plenty of parking around the taps too, so nice and easy to get in and out..
The water is good too..

Hello, just left the Exmouth area. PLenty of water at the Information Center. Cape Range NP (Kurrajong) was great, as was the weather. There is some great beaches and snorkelling in the NP. Then stayed at Ningaloo Station. The 30 k road in was very rough with corrugations, but have been on worse. We stayed at Winderabandi Point, on the beach. Its another 30 odd k's of not so bad corrugations from the homestead. The sand was pretty deep in places at Winderabandi. We got bogged with the weight of the Jayco Eagle, but got out ourselves out with a little work. It would pay to walk the sand road into the site first. The beach and bay there was magnificent and the vibe with the other campers great. We also stayed at Waroora Station, and again that was a great spot, but with a shorter less corrugated road.

We are stopping at Lefroy bay, never been before, but had heard its a rough road to it

The road is okay, as in not steep or narrow, just very corrugated.

Windrabandi is an awesome spot!
The road in was a little corrugated last October, but just dropped tyres to 30psi on the tracks and cruised at 40kph, no need to rush, got to the beach and then dropped to 18psi (petrol auto 80s which having got there had transfer case stuck in 2wd so low tyre pressures was the go!)
For those that have not been you will love it!
