Before I start this is not a political thread, but rather an honest discussion on what carbon pricing may have on camping and using the outdoors. For example:
* Could we see laws reducing/licensing wood burning as this releases carbon into the atmosphere?
* Will open fires in parks be outlawed to ensure carbon remain in timbers? What about other fuels for fires?
* How will groceries and spare parts industry be affected in rural/remote areas?
* Will the cost of fuels go up for heavy users of diesel etc?
* Will more people opt for solar solutions instead of electrical power? Will more choose to free camp as a result and avoid caravan park fees?
* How will the price of new campers be affected, esp using steel or aluminum products?
* Will this all be a non-event similar to the GST?
I reckon it would be good to see an open and honest discussion on how you think things may transpire.....

* Will this all be a non-event similar to the GST?
Ask a small business owner if GST and BAS reporting are non-events...

* Could we see laws reducing/licensing wood burning as this releases carbon into the atmosphere?
Yes...Its ridiculous, so yes without doubt - and its a license fee they get off you - so .. you know that will happen
* Will open fires in parks be outlawed to ensure carbon remain in timbers? What about other fuels for fires?
Doubt it, as the wild fire risk still exists, you know how they encourage you go to collect firewood now - Ignore that - Yes its likely...
* How will groceries and spare parts industry be affected in rural/remote areas?
Same as anywhere else, hang on, theres freight costs going up due to fuel and transport costs.
* Will the cost of fuels go up for heavy users of diesel etc?
It will go up for everyone. But poor freight companies wont pay subbies anymore $, they will cry poor...
* Will more people opt for solar solutions instead of electrical power?
Possibly, maybe the Gov should start a solar rebate scheme??
*Will more choose to free camp as a result and avoid caravan park fees?
No, they will ban free camping. See Tasmania, they are leading the charge charge.
* How will the price of new campers be affected, esp using steel or aluminum products?
Everything in/on/around/under/above Land in AU will go up. Nothing will come down you can bet your wifes Yar Yars on that.
* Will this all be a non-event similar to the GST?
No, but then I dont see the GST as a non event. At least the GST replaced the old system, but this is just pure lies to get more money off you.

x 2 ... Like everything ... another tax makes things more expensive ... just like the GST did. How much more? Only time will tell.
