Title: Howdy from an excited family
Post by: Muttley on July 04, 2012, 05:52:32 PM: We are new to camper trailers, but have done some camping before and plenty of 4wding. I'm looking forward to picking up plenty of tips from this forum and hopefully will be able to contribute some stuff along the way.

We are picking up our Customline Deluxe Off Road 12ft with full annexe, tropical roof, kitchen etc in the next couple of weeks. We are very excited by this and have already planned our first long weekend and drafting up a two week trip for later in the year.

Did you get the storm flaps over the drawbar side windows, it's probably one of the only mods I'll ever do to the canvas side of the CT.

Post by: stephwoodall on July 24, 2012, 07:54:59 AM: Congrats on the Customline CT. I bought one earlier this year Walk Up Deluxe V2 offroad. Absolutely love it. Tugged it from Melbourne to Darwin and then back through Qld and NSW. It went brilliantly. Couple of small probs with the tonneau tie downs coming away but the boys at Customline had them repaired no dramas.

Can't wait to get out there again. I keep the tropical roof on all the time and there are no problems with it. We spent the extra and bought the SMEV kitchen along with a few other goodies too.

It also tows really well. I am really pleased with it. The only pain is zipping on the annex sometimes but I have a small aluminium ladder that packs away in the footwell at the end of the bed. Makes setting up a breeze.

The next mod (because I'm in Melbourne) is to fit a diesel heater.

We leave the annexe roof zipped on and fold it over the tent before we pack it up and with the bigger tonneau cover it all fits really well.
