Hi Swaggers
Although he would not want me to say anything, Donuts, a Police Officer who is a MySwag member, has sent me a heap of Auskick footballs for the Aboriginal kids here at Mulan (Lake Gregory). I did not ask Donuts to do this, he is extremely community minded, and knows full well the enjoyment the children will get from such a wonderful action.
We all hear constantly about things that Police may have done that people do not like. This time I reckon people need to know that a good MySwag member, who is a Police Officer has taken the time to do such a wonderful thing for a bunch of desert kids. The children will have countless hours of fun, and training, from this. These same young people won their recent local grand final (between Mulan, Balgo and Builliluna), so they do love their football (AFL).
Without any reservations, Thankyou Donuts, for your wonderful deed.
Regards

As one of the swaggers said, little things go a long way. The kids will really enjoy the footballs, and I hope (as we discussed) another member will come from Balgo and hand them out. If not the kids will have the balls by the weekend anyway, and you will get the photo's by email, then I will send hard copies to you.
Speak to you soon on the phone.

Well done Donuts... certainly good to see genuine people out there who are willing to help no questions asked and nothing wanted in reply... I have been in the job in Qld for 24 years and I can remember clearly all the appreciations shown from people when I worked in Emerald and Charleville......
-
Well done Wayne aka "Donuts"... I just love it when a plan comes together and some of the freebies available go to well deserving kids! I'll have a think about some of my contacts from days gone by and see what else may be in the offering.....
Cheers,
Sue

Cheers to Donuts.
Not that there was any doubt about his credibility.
He's a myswagger. Of course he's a good bloke. Add to it a copper, and its a recipe for good stuff.
Well done mate.
And Tjupurula thanks for letting people know.
Always good to share cheer and hope instead of doom and gloom.

Not nice D4D, just because Wayne did not make it in the height stakes, his heart is bigger than many people I know.

Pretty short for a copper aren't I?
Thats okay Tjupurula, he aint much taller, lol
I haven't even started, I hope to take this further by starting some sort of fund to purchase footys for outback communities.
I have to go through the head office to make sure that everything is done properly so it does not bring disrepute to Victoria Police. Where to start??
Thanks everyone

I guess you had better D4D over here sometime, then he will see he is not that tall, when standing near me that is. I do accept that I am a bit bigger than the average person, both in height and weight.
I have thought about contacting clubs like Melbourne, as they have a tribal player, but then again, the tribal kids have lost respect for that player. I tried Saints, but they have yet to get back to me. Thankyou for what you have done.

Sorry Mumof3, the team here at Lake Gregory is call the Desert Saints, and they wear Saint Kilda colours. I do however believe that some of these kids have the potential to maybe one day get it together, although they have been seriously disheartened by a Melbourne player who has got himself into trouble.
