Bloody hell that was close.

The one good thing to come out of it is that they can walk away and talk about it and they were the only vehicle involved. If they had hit the truck then who knows how many would have been involved. At least three, the van, the truck, and the vehicle doing the filming.

A big leason learned.

Reminds me of a similar incident that occurred a few years ago on the Bruce Highway just north of where we live.  A white van came out to overtake a truck, but sadly the van collided head on with an approaching truck.  Result, six dead, 4 were in the van and 2 in two other vehicles.   Alcohol was not involved and it was a straight good section of road. Just the wrong spilt second decision by the van driver.  We all have times where we take driving just too easy and have close calls. I know the older I get the more I hate overtaking.  Kevin

Slightly off track, but also slow down and look when coming to a crossroad that you have to give way at.  A lot of people will know the Glenrowan-Myrtleford Rd (aka Snow Rd) that crosses the Wangaratta-Whitfield Rd at Oxley near Wangaratta.  It's been made into a small dog leg.  I drive that road all the time, and the number of drivers who don't slow down, or worst still floor it through the intersection in front of you is scary.  This weekend being ski opening/winery walkabout I've driven through 6 times, and had idiots not slow down/fly out in front of me 4 times.  2 people were killed recently when they drove straight into the path of a semi.

Just a reminder to slow down when driving, and think.  Then we'll all arrive safely.

Only a couple of days ago , a friend told me of a near miss .

He was driving a bus with race car in , and two sons were each in motorhomes behind .

They came up on an old local who decided he would turn right into his farm ,  so they all started to slow .

But at the back was a car who thought it was a great time to pass the lot and was screaming down passing them all , but didn't know about old mate about to turn right .

My friend saw this out his mirror , and swerved right and the car hit the brakes , and it all ended ok . Better than slamming into the old local I guess .

I have also had problems when I take to a right turn lane on the highway , and a speedster follows me thinking I'm indicating to pass some slower cars ... I'm slowing as he's speeding up  !

Just shows to use your mirrors , and always expect the unexpected !

I remember that video.
Made big time news over here at the time. May have jut been a gap filler, but still made big headlines.
and people still drive like idiots and mongrels.
Just yesterday, was driving my mums little hatch back car, wife in my Ute following me.
I slow down because a large van is trying to pull into a small laneway to the left to private road. But before van could pull in, another car had to leave the single lane laneway. This car wanted to go the direction we had just come from. All clear he pulls out so van can pull in and then we can all proceed forward. Except some mongrel comes screaming past all of us, nearly wipes out my wife, nearly hits the other car, nearly swipes some people on the footpath, all becausee he couldn't wait a few moments.
bloody scumbags.
mongrels.  I hate them!!! Dickheads who endanger my families life and that of other people.!!
