Some enjoyable filiming and tough conditions as there were no bridges across the Archer river , the wenlock and no ferry across the Jardine. Enjoy... ;D

and not a '4X4 FULLY OFF-ROAD 4WD' sticker anywhere!

Thanks McGirr - took me back to watching this as a kid. Good stuff. makes me want to pack up and take off right now.
oh, cringe, winching off the towball??? No dampner either??? At least Mal got his kid out of the vehicle before recovery.

That was great thanks for that.
Had to laugh at the tow ball on the front that they connected the winch too, and the big swamper tyres! Lucky buggers they would have had a ball making some of their shows.
-
That was brilliant. Loved every minute! Thanks for allowing me to do the track again ... 9 years before I did!

Those big swamper tires looked like they were still at full preasure :-[
so I get from that video you must have tires and tubes - not tubeless and long cable ? ?
-
And that rated recovery point on the front of the ute, where the winch hooks back onto.???and the wire rope around the tree on the other side of the Jardine.. ah the 70's. Got to love it.
-
Great footage, thanks for putting it up.
Especially liked the way the bloke looking after the telegraph line made a phone call.
Stand on top of the car and attach direct to the phone lines. Love it...
Makes me wan't to get out there and see it all before places like Cape York and The Gibb River rd etc are easy for all to do.
Cheers
