Started looking at pop out pop top style caravans in the 14' range and with a kid and plans for another we got to thinking bunks would be handy and preferable over a second expandable bed area.
Have come across two so far that may suit our needs:
Jayco Expanda 14-44-4
Windsor Rapid 430X
Would be looking at Outback/Offroad versions for improved piece of mind on unsealed roads.
Thoughts?
I like the Windsor as it has a front boot and superior fold out bed. Build quality may also be better.
The Jayco has nicer interior trims/colours and I'm sure it wins on price. The bunk area is also a little more separate/private, and looks to have better storage options for kid stuff.
Very much in the initial stages and still find our Heaslip functional and more than adequate at this stage... But add another little one and things/needs start to change ???

I like the floor plan of the expanda better. Though I would probably prefer the fridge in with the rest of the kitchen, but is it to close to the bad in the windsor..... Do both vans have the fold out main bed at the rear....I assume they do but the layout plans are just drawn that way? All in all not a bad choice to make either way.
Cheers Nomad.

For me, Windsor would win hands down. The lounge/dining set up better and don't like the idea of kitchen next to the kids beds.....Build quality would also be better IMO with the Windsor.....Good luck....

Interesting thoughts thus far... Cheers.
Nomad, these two models only have one pull out bed: Jayco have it in the front of the van and hence no front boot (does have a tunnel style locker) and the Windsor have it pull out from the rear.
Do not have a great idea on price, but would presume the Jayco: mid to high $30 000 and the Windsor: high $30 to low $40 000?
Options would include battery/12volt, hws/external shower, awning and pull down external table at this stage.
