Title: Off topic bird question?
Post by: Moopla on May 02, 2012, 12:42:58 PM: Anyone else had any trouble with those pesky black and white pee wees? I have a couple that live in the area and constantly hit the windows and glass doors on the house. I know the're only being protective but now i'm waking up to the buggers attacking the windows and mirrors on the car as well!!! >:( The back deck of the house and the cars are constantly covered in bird crap and i've had enough! They seem to be getting worse and staying around for most of the year. Any hints on how to get rid of them without getting into strife with the RSPCA? Sorry for the off topic question but google hasn't given me any ideas.

In fact the pee wees seem to quite like it and see it as a game. :'(

If you happen upon a solution you should patent it and make a fortune. :laugh:

We bought an owl and a hawk plastic thing from Bunnings, loaded with a few stones for weight and stuck them in places to intimidate the smaller birds. Works a treat, you just to remember to move them around every few days.

Post by: relaxabout on May 02, 2012, 06:26:09 PM: Try this it does work, glue 2 CD disc together, shiny side outside x 2 & drill a hole at the top each CD. Run fishing line between each Cd's that you have glue together about a foot apart.
Tie the fishing line from the gutter in front of window with 2 lots of CD
When the wind blows, the CDS turn & put a reflection against the windows as it is turning. Try this also near your plants
Believe it or not, give it a go.

Post by: feelnfine on May 03, 2012, 04:47:37 PM: had the same problem round our house ...the wife got a plastic owl and although i laughed at her it worked a treat..but you have to move them every couple of days around the yard have not had a problem since...i hope it work as well for you if you give it a try.

I have just read in the local paper that a guy with the same problem as yourself swears by the rubber snake method of
deterring then. He recommends the red belly black colour.
