Wife and I are off to Mackay for the Single Action Shooting Qld State Titles. Most shooting ranges are down a dirt road in the boonies, so that's the closest we get to off road. Will be a fun weekend of camping out and catching up with old friends and making some new ones.
Anyone else making use of the long weekend to hook up and head out?

We're heading out to the Australian Heritage Festival (http://www.jondaryanwoolshed.com.au/whats-on/australian-heritage-festival/) at Jondaryan Woolshed, halfway between Toowoomba and Dalby.

Hey Benji,
I am from Toowoomba as well and never been to Ocean Beach, let me know what its like, am thinking of trying to fit in a day trip as the rest of the time may help a mate work on his house.
Cheers

Off to Bigriggen Park near Mt Barney.
hopefully a great weekend to be had !
what ever you do, have fun ! !

Benji and Wartim, the Ocean Beach camping on Bribie is one of my favourite spots, I'm sure you will love it. Camp sites 10, 11, 54 and 55 are the better sites IMHO. Enjoy

We'll probably shoot up to Inskip for a few days, weather permitting.

Lucky buggers.
I'm flying down to Bris on Thursday, gearing up to work all weekend on a big relocation project. Should be great fun (not). Whilst you're all sitting on the beach/by a campfire, spare a thought for me.
Enjoy!

Can you pre book a site (at ocean beach), I guess if you can, you dont get to choose the site?
Thanks in advance for the advice

Hi Wartim
You can pre-book at ocean beach and you do choose which site. There's a map of the sites on the derm website. The recommended sites were already taken when we booked a few weeks ago so we had to choose a different one.

We found it best to do a day trip when its quieter to have a good look at all the sites and then record the numbers for future reference and booking.

Stayed at Island view c/p for a couple of months. Nice drive up to Landcruiser M/P from Imbil. Just don't do it at the end of a long weekend. The warrior's are on their way home and think is great to go sideways.

we ended up at Sundown National Park for 4 days (took the Friday off also) 8) 8) 8). nights were crisp but the space heater in the KK fixed that, and days were fantastic.
-
Yeah, marvellous weather in Mackay, too. 12-15 at night and 25-28 during the day. Everyone wanted to stay on, it was so nice. We had a great shoot. I came 9th overall out of 70 shooters. Roll on the national titles in Milmerran in September! The Tambo towed fantastically behind my ute. I had to look back occasionally to check it was still there. ;D

Went to Reedybrook ;D
Beautiful weather beautiful spot.

Hey Benji,
How did your trip to Ocean Beach at Bribie Isalnd go..?
To get there do you drive up the beach from from down near Woorim or do you take the inland track from White Patch..?
Cheers

Hi Wartim
We loved Ocean Beach at Bribie. Beautiful spot. We've booked to go back on the long weekend in October. The inland track was closed due to flooding. It's an easy drive up the beach from Woorim. Just need to avoid around the high tide for a few hours. Remember the mozzie repellent too as they're pretty thick in the late afternoon. I'm sure you'll enjoy a visit there.
Cheers, Benji
