Title: New to CT's and to myswag.
Post by: akp22 on April 22, 2012, 04:56:17 AM
Hello all!

I'm Amanda, married mother of three young boys (5, 3 & 1) and we hail from Mackay, QLD. I've been following this wonderful community for a while now and thought I had better do the intro thing, especially since today we collected our '09 Jayco Swan Outback!

We were looking at the new CT's for months but couldn't decide what we wanted and then around three weeks ago we saw this Swan advertised and it had all the extras we were considering so we grabbed at it with both hands! I couldn't make that phone call quick enough and to see that it was in pristine condition too was an added bonus.

We kept the Swan a secret from the boys until we collected it and to say they were excited is an understatement. Of course they had to sleep in it last night but I'm not sure how much actual sleep was had.

I'm in love with the Swan and can't wait to take it out for our first ever family camping trip to Cape Palmerston next weekend. I've been getting inspiration for mods to make from everywhere, especially myswag, so thank you and I look forward to interacting with you all more now that the Swan is home! :)

;D Hi Amanda + Co.  Lot of useful stuff on here, and a friendly mob to boot.  Good to see another from the Northern area of this grand state.  I remember a lot of great times had in a similar style camper when I was a lil' fellow, the kids will go crazy.
  Paul

Hi Amanda,
I wish we had a Swan when our 3 boys were little - I can remember struggling to set up the tent, beds, kitchen etc with little ones ughhh!  It bucketed down once, the water was almost coming inside the tent, and the boys were sitting on their blow-up beds inside!  Everything was drenched, and our youngest (3mths at the time) was sound asleep in the bouncer with water flowing just under his feet!!  What a weekend!  We spent the next day drying everything, then had to pack up and go home and set up and wash it all...thank goodness that didn't happen again!

The boys LOVE camping, and yours will too.  Mine are 17, 15 and 13 now, and we have a much more comfortable Lifestyle CT which literally takes 15 mins and we are set.

Looking forward to hearing about your adventures

Hello again. Wow, you are a friendly bunch! Thank you all for the warm welcome. I'm trying to talk hubby into joining myswag as well but he's a bit of a forum newbie. I hope to have loads of photos for you after this weekend as we're heading to Cape Palmerston for a few days for the campers first trip. Can't wait!
