So after many hours researching, reading (mostly on here), and getting advice (once again on here), I think I have narrowed down my choices to a camel plus or maybe (big maybe) getaway campers. What I am going to do is look at both at the sunshine coast caravan show in 2 weeks talk to both and see what I can get within my budget. Maybe option down some of the stuff and try and make some it myself. I would also like to have a look at market direct's new step thru as well. Lots of options on it. Would like to try and buy all Australian though. Any thoughts would be appreciated or any other brands to look at. Budget is $15k max.

Even though your in Qld, I'd have a look at Tambo, try and find a bad word about them anywhere.

Tru Blu

But in Qld, I'd seriously wait for the new range of Trackabouts.

We looked at the Camel, didn't like the sloping wall next to the bed.
Have a look at Great Aussie Yengo. That's what we've gone for

Gotta get in there and have a look at what you like/want/need/ can afford! Also set them up- can be a mind changer if you don't like the way they go up/down. We liked the Cubs, the decided we'd make our own hardfloor and studied all the brands in how they were setup, and ended up finding (by accident) a 2nd hand one that suited what we wanted in our budget!
Goodluck and enjoy testing them all out! ;D Kris

Here you go, the Tambo Marlo $12,500, got to be the best value for money camper on the market, Aussie owned and made, using all Australian materials.

G'day Frahmbell,
I'd definately be having a yarn to Rob & Kym the new owners of Trackabout before you make your final decision........ their Kakadu is $11990- so for a budget of $15k you could option it up and still have some change, either that or put he weight on them and see what they can do to settle a deal on a Deluxe Tourer......... I'm sure they'd be keen to get some new CT's heading out the door.
Regards,
Barrabart.

That's pretty close, both great campers for the money, the advantage of the Trackabout, it is in QLD, Trackabout is a great camper and it's all Australian like the Tambo.

Go The Trackabout, They are a great unit and with the way they are built you can add/modify without loosing integrity of the trailer.
A happy Trackabout owner, cheers duggie

Now adding lifestyle and jimboomba to the list and taking off mdc (website states no warranty on tent WTF) lifestyle looks great for the price

So after a lot of tooing and foring we have finally made our decision. We have put down a deposit on a lifestyle extenda elite. Now the waiting begins
