There was a video a few weeks ago in one of the topics with a White Landcruiser with the bonnet under the water and half floating in a creek,
Well whoever you are you are now famous!!!!!
It is on the news.com.au website. (no it wasn't me that uploaded it)

So why did it float? Empty water and/or fuel tanks??
-
Not having a brain also helped in the vehicle being lighter.
-
Good old Australian media. Always last with the latest.. :P
-
A mate just emailed me that link - I think it's disgusting that ninemsn will find random clips online and post them as news.
-
I do believe this was ages ago, nothing recent about it, or is it a different one...
-
Must have been a slow news day.
-
Isn't their slogan: Always the latest news?
-
5 mins of fame. ???
-
Unless it was an emergency I don’t agree with what the guy did. In saying that if it was posted on forums where only members could view, then I would/did enjoy watching the clip.
But video’s like that going viral just make us 4WD’s like idiots and gives more ammunition to the anti 4WD lobby. Plus it gives inexperienced drivers false hope of what the vehicle can do next time they come to a flooded road.

The article said empty fuel tank and the spare tyre.
Didn't think either would have been enough to do that though.

I wonder when Burke and Wills were about to set off, did the crowd sit around and tell them they were morons and advise how and stupid it was.
Someone should have told that crazy Landcruiser guy that no one in their right mind would risk doing something that may not turn out perfect.
I guess no fireman has ever ran into a burning building in a vain attempt attempt to save a single person at the risk of his own life, ect ect ect.
It used to be the human spirit to treck into the unknown, to tame the untamable, to fight the unwinable fight.
Now it seems we piss and moan about those who try.
Sometimes people do stupid things, sometimes people like to do things just out of the safe zone. Who are we to judge, especially after the event.

Although I am pleased you decided not to drive across the river at Lostock a couple of weeks ago!!!
(oh and I think the cruiser was floating because of the heavy water in the river!)

You don't have enough faith in my Cruiser Lindsay :-) It did Blue Rag in two wheel drive remember. :-)
Seriously if that 80 didn't have the kids floaties in the back it would have drove straight through.

Plenty of faith in your cruiser mate - it may have had something to do with the little person that was sitting in the back seat of it!!
-
That's why I took your advice. Took me a minute to click at the time.
