Title: Evakool TravelMate fridge/freezers
Post by: Pipeliner on March 28, 2012, 08:45:48 AM
At the Brisbane 4x4 show I spotted the TravelMate fridge/frrezer range on the EvaKool stand and was amazed at the low price.  A 30 litre compressor fridge for $529 - I thought the Waeco CDF35 was good value at $749!  The TravelMates look a bit like a Waeco except that the lid hinges on a long side, not at the back.

If I needed a new fridge (which I don't) I'd be seriously looking at one of these.

I think the Travelmates use a Domus compressor - or at least something that isn't the Danfoss one.  Something to consider.

These seem to be new as well http://www.evakool.com.au/products?sprod=153 (http://www.evakool.com.au/products?sprod=153)
How many different type of fridges do Evakool sell now???  At least 4 I think.

I dont drive a land cruiser or a patrol. I have a 3.2v6 jackaroo with 320,000km with no issues.
Danfoss/ domus.

2 year warranty and I can afford it.
If it doesn't do what it says on the box they will have a 7ft tall mad Scottish prick in their office. :)
Thanks for your concern and I let you know how it goes.

Our $299 aldi 3way is AWESOME. but for our big lap the mrs would like freezer too.
We have big batteries and solar so current draw is no a major concern unless I get charged for sunshine.
