Title: Solar Energy Store service or lack of
Post by: PB on March 24, 2012, 12:37:41 PM
I dont know if anyone has had this problem with the Solar Energy Store. If you are about to buy something read this to be forewarned.

I was looking for some solar panels and additional equipment. I saw their add in CTA and went to their site and found what I wanted. I rang them for some extra assistance and they were very helpful. So I ordered online what I required paying through PayPal. Now the fun started!

After a week went by I contacted them asking for freight details. They reply via email was "how did you hear about us?" I replied from CTA(Camper Trailer Australia) but could I have freight details please. A couple of days later the reply was "How did you hear about us?" So I rang them and was asked what my postcode which I told them. The reply was freight takes X number of days, I said I know but could I have the connote details. Reply sorry we dont have that and we dont know who freighted them because we use an agent.Okay what is the agents company name? We dont know. So you dont know who the agent is or which freight company picked up my order? Oh Toll picked up the order.Okay so what is the connote details? we dont have them and neither does the storeman.

I tried to give them my receipt number but the they didnt want it or even my name, they only wanted the postcode. So how could they even check my order? especially if there are multiple orders to that postcode?

I put a compalint in with PayPal and that day the refund was processed by the store and 3 days later I had my money back.

What a Joke! This company clearly likes to take your money and do nothing until the 40 days clearance through Paypal runs its course and you are left out of pocket. You would think if someone is advertising in a magazine like CTA they wouldnt be shonky. I know orders can be stuffed from time time with anybody, but this is no stuff up.

I strongley advise everyone not to get suckered in by this company. I will be taking it further with the relevant authority soon. Also I hope Carlisle from CTA you are reading this and should really look at who advertises in your magazine.

And Mandrake you will be hearing from me soon. I have learnt my lesson!

If the goods are still in transit, and you now have your refund..................... enjoy your free items.  ;D it seems they have burnt a few people who do buisness with them online,, so you are not alone...  so like i said, if the goods still turn up.... dont return unless you realy have to..

PB,

Not much I can do now, mate. I have a new magazine coming out in August called 4WD Touring Australia http://www.facebook.com/4WDTouringAustralia (http://www.facebook.com/4WDTouringAustralia)

I own this magazine, which means that I can say no to advertisers.

But I can say the best thing anyone can do in this situation is vote with their wallets. Tell people here about it. Don't let some other poor sap get ripped off because it wasn't clear in a google search that the company doesn't stand behind the products it sells.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. That companies can run like this and still stay in business always surprises me.
