Title: Townsville members. Everyone ok.
Post by: grafy82 on March 20, 2012, 10:28:58 PM
After the mini tornado ( I'm not kidding) ripped through Townsville suburbs last night, just wondering if any myswaggers suffered damage or loss. Our hearts go out to the devestated family's. Lots of roofs gone, some houses torn in half and powerlines and trees down. It was a very narrow path but more destructive for Townsville then cyclone Yasi was. Just thankfull no one was killed.

Cheers

Wes

Just to add to this, i was on night shift last night up here in the New Ireland Province of PNG, usually the breeze up here is very slight..... this morning around 3am it was blowing a gale..... to the point where some gusts would rock you on your feet...... i was standing at one stage on top of a tank around 10mtrs high, was talking on a hand held radio, had to stop mid sentence to grab hold of a handrail to retain the standing position..... it all settled by about 6am. So there certainly was some strange happenings last night with regard to weather etc.

Anyway, hope all in Townsville and surrounds are ok, and life gets back to normal as quickly as possible.
