Wow. That's really impressive. Bit over the top though, don't you think? I mean they're only speeding a little.

WA used to have aerial speed checks back in the 80's and 90's and may still do it.

They didn't do it that way with the chopper but there are definitely some drivers that need some thing similar to keep them off the road  ;D ;D

Is that for realor what ?  When looked at in full screen, in real slow motion, there does not seem to be any projectile going to the road.

Yea, I wonder if they still do. They used to have lines marked on the Nullarbor and apparently aircraft could time the time taken to cross the lines then land on the road and book you. Coming from NSW as I was driving to Perth as a 18 year old I thought I could out run them...never got caught but was told a few stories as we traveled of those that did.

If course its not real......

But for the cool factor, that wins hands down. How cool is the video is the real question. The CGI is modern art.

Hume highway southbound just north of Seymour currently has line markings for aerial speed checks. Havnt seen any eyes in the sky for a while tho!

There's a free iPhone app called Action Movie with various different versions of that video. Really easy to use and looks very effective. U just take video footage focused on a certain spot and the app inserts the missile, wrecking ball, car etc. a good bit of fun.

Moorooduc Road, Tyab or thereabouts has had those lines and warning signs for as long as I can remember, which is a pretty long time. :) Never seen any Police aircraft overhead though..

I'm wondering how long it will be before we start seeing Unmanned Air Vehicles patrolling the sky's for highway patrol and general police work. The US military have exploded in their expansion and use of UAV Drones , and I believe it will only take a couple of local or state governments to try in a sample trial ( especially where revenue raising is concerned), before we see everybody else jumping on board. Imagine drones with speed radar and surveillance cameras patrolling the sky's of major cities like Sydney etc. They are cheap enough to run.

Aerial speed enforcement got re-introduced in NSW back in 2009. it doesn't appear to be working very well though ...http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/sydney-nsw/police-aerial-squad-should-be-grounded-critics-say/story-e6freuzi-1225858115745 (http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/sydney-nsw/police-aerial-squad-should-be-grounded-critics-say/story-e6freuzi-1225858115745)

Signs on the Hume Hwy between Campbelltown & the Picton turn off tell people that the area is under Aerial speed enforcment.  I also remember probably at least 10 years ago, out in Western NSW somewhere (we were heading home to Qld at the time) there were similar signs.  Put the wind up us at the time and half expected to find a fine in the mail by the time we got home.
