SWMBO has decided that she wants to make the jump from the Camper Trailer world to a Jayco Expanda. When we bought the camper I told her if we buy a camper trailer and like the lifestyle and use it that I would contemplate making the jump financially to a larger van. She is right that we do like camping with the trailer but the expanda would make setup a little easier and life somewhat more comfortable when out and about. Also we still have several years with the kids now aged 9, 6 and 3 and a bunk bed expanda would make life easier.
Now my issue is what should I advertise the Trackabout for………
I would like the wider groups thoughts before I put it on the market for too much or little.
Specs are
• Late 2007 Trackabout Safari trailer
• Trailer is full galvanised dipped so rust and or paint chips will never be of concern
• Drift kitchen with draws and shelf on the tailgate and drift full length trailer drawer on the left hand sideof trailer with drift kitchen box to match.
• 85 litre water tank with 2 hand pumps
• Alloy toolbox on the drawbar
•10ft Trackabout tent with enclosed annex including solid wall behind kitchen and midge proof netting to rest.
• wired with Anderson plug and brand new 120ah Fullriver battery. 1 merit plug on battery box, two merit plugs at rear of trailer and one normal plug inside trailer
• LED 5050 light strips wired inside main tent with two removalable switched 1m strings for under annex.
• 2 burner gas stove in kitchen
• Stone guard with mud flaps
• Pole carrier box with poles, ropes etc required for the tent/annex
• Electric brakes
• 3 x 267/75/16 tyres rims to suite 6 stud cruiser patrol
• DO35 Hitch
• 2 x 4.5kg gas bottle
• 4 x jerry can holders
Trailer is perfect as you would expect from a galv dipped trackabout built unit and other than being a little dusty tent is as good as new with all zips working as they should and no holes or tears anywhere....
So what should I put it on the market for??
Thanks
James

Don't do it!!! After all it's a Trackabout
If you have to I'll spot you a couple a hundred for it
Seriously though you would have to be looking for at least 9 to 10K I think without seeing piccies of it. It really depends on the condition of it and if in good nick could demand a couple of grand more. Luckily for you though it's a Trackabout so it should sell pretty quickly if the price is right.

Rubbish ..!! ;D ;D
How long do you honestly think you can keep them happy ??
No matter how much you promise or give them.....they always want more.....
I've been jailed ( I mean married ) for 31 yrs and I still haven't worked her out yet !!!!!!!!!!
Don't go down the caravan track unless YOU want it.....oops the missus has just come home ( I'm serious ) and I gotta go.................. ;D
-
"Brother Gronk" is once again right. "Marriage" is a sentence, not a word..........
Think long & hard before selling the Trackabout. Once you've jumped over the edge it's hard to come back.....
-
Wish it was an extenda, I'm after one of those.

STAND UP FOR YOURSELF >:D said the little voice from the dark corner under the CT

Will have to go out and have a look at the Expanda's and see what I come up with.
My biggest concern with the whole deal is how the Patrol will handle the extra weight of the expanda outback's........

Jtraf,
A mate of mine has been chasing a fully-gal Trackabout for a while now. I'll show him the piccies of yours tonight, see what he'd be interested in paying. You could probably put another $5k on top of his offer - he's a tightass... Freight up here would probably kill the deal for him.
I'd second what the others have said, I'd be looking around the $12k probably. I'd expect it to sell pretty quick at that price. It's well kitted out with the drifta setup and annex walls, not to mention e 12v.
Good luck, and enjoy your expanda!
Cheers!
Matto :)

Are you talking about 2nd hand campers or 2nd hand wives, and if it's the later how do you tell if the mods and updates have been done properly and will last the distance ? >:D

2nd hand Wives mate. Just take them for a test drive and check the warranty also. Make sure it's a 2 year head to toe warranty and you can exchange it also.
Noel....I will let you know when I become unhappy.
Mark

Bought a 2008 model Safari for $11,400 very similar specs. 8)
No toolbox but extra length drawbar and motorbike platform on drawbar. ???
Price depends on whether you want a quick sale or a lot of money?
If your pepared to wait theres always a bunny discerning buyer with plenty of folding stuff eventually. >:D
If you want the money just be prepared to say no to all lower offers cos just like easter the bunny will come. :cup:
Steve.

Yep I know about the low ball offers from near and far. Also I don't have to sell it immediately as I don't need the money right away. I will search for what we want to replace the Trackabout and move it on later if I have to. I know what it owes me and i know what it is worth.
If you know of one cheaper I always advise the buyer to go for it. Most time you get what you pay for.
