Best to grab some on the way up, you will find you will have to go a fair way to find some as the amount of people that frequent there clean the fallen wood up pretty quickly

Yes, for campfires only.

Have a look along the roadside along the Howqua track on the way in, or, once youve set up, go for a drive up Doughtys Road.  Doughtys road goes off to the left just before you go over the bridge @ Sheepyard Flat on the way in.

You are not allowed to drive off designated roads (and camping areas) within the Howqua Hills reserve.  Makes it hard to look for firewood, so need to access it of nearby roads.

You may strike it lucky, check out all the camp areas from Frys to Tunnel Bend on the Thursday for any left overs!

After last week's wild winds, there should be plenty of fallen wood.   Of course, you can't cut down any trees.
