Post by: DannyG on March 04, 2012, 08:19:31 PM
Who's going?

Should all the myswaggers wear a pink ribbon in our hair or something?  ;D

Keep an eye for a mum dad and 2 kids with 6 toes and two heads each

It it just me - or do the ticket prices seem to keep going up?

$17 now?

Yep... every year it seems.
In the latest RACV mag there is a voucher - 2 for 1 offer.  Valid only on Thursday and Tuesday but makes the price reasonable IMO.  Also I think parking is free if you get in before 11.

Went along today.   It was a bit of deja vu.  All the same stuff in exactly the same spots from when I last went in 2010.  A few bargains.    I got myself a Narva lightbar and a pair of Landrover sandals.

Heaps of people there, average age must have been 65.

Cheers

Like how to complain that "they don't make things like they used to?".

It must be rubbing off.   That's part of the reason why I bought the Narva light bar.  I looks and feels properly built, nice and solid, with a good weight to it, all alloy with no plastic.  Just like they built stuff in the olden days.

Cheers

I'll be in Melbourne on Monday and would be keen to have a look. Can anyone who has been before late in the week tell me if it's worth it? Are exhibitors packing up to go home by then?

Lashed out and bought a couple of King Goanna chairs ($89 each).  Very comfy!  They were selling like hot cakes.

The ARB tent was like normal, $10-20 more than normal retail, and not likely to throw a discount! >:(

$1199 mate. They have about 10% off something's and that's about it.

I did notice some other brand fridges around the show at very good prices.

Cough it up then which ones & how much ;D

I was looking at the Waeco 50 at Anaconda this morn for $999 and comes with bag and bonus 20ltr ice box. I also had a look at the ARB fridges in another store and they look pretty good if not a bit pricey. Still you get what you pay for I suppose.

There were plenty of the usual weaco and engal deals but there was another brand that caught my eye, I am sorry I can't recall the name because I'm not in the market for another fridge but remember it used the danfos motor and the prices were very good. Bushman perhaps? Anyway they looked good and I'd definitely consider one if I needed one.

Good deal mate, I just recalled seeing the show price on the tag but obviously they were doing better if asked ;)

We went along today, picked up a few odds and sods for the camper.

Had a win of sorts with the missus. She wanted to compare the Track Trailers and Ultimates and she loved the Track Trailer Topaz.

If only I had the extra $50000 or so to upgrade from the Lifestyle.

Also ran into one of Lifestyles ex employee's working for Market Direct at the show, said he had been poached, but was honest about about the comparison between the Lifestyle Extenda Elite and Market Directs rip off of it which is $6000 cheaper.

Just a little tip for any in the market for a Projecta Pure Sine Wave Invertor - the CARAC stand have them at the show for less than you pick one up for over the internet.

$185 for the 150 Watt and $195 for the 300W. Very close to buying one but decided I would replace my broken battery first, maybe next year.
